Re: Has anyone ever called you a genius?

It's amusing that pretty much every post here says "people call me a genius, but I'm not, or I am lazy so it doesn't matter." Now to claim to be a genius requires you to be sure of yourself and also sure that you are more worthy of the term than everyone else* in the entire thread. It just...

I dislike the katana. That thing crits soooo much, and people keep feeding the demo-samurai victims to heal himself with. Yeah, I still find it odd that the classes that can consistently 1-shot a fists of steel heavy (axtinguisher pyro, targe demo... spy?) can get killed by a single crit in return. Anyway it's not that they're overpowered, just that they're not intuitive.

The fists of steel are a bit weird though - they're an unexpected special case where you have to fight against them completely differently. Dealing 750 damage with ranged weapons isn't feasible for any solo class (except perhaps another heavy?) and even if they react properly they're up against some...

To elaborate on "depending on the map" - if there's actually a spot far enough away from his army that he can't react quickly to an attack there, go ahead and drop/nydus there. If all their bases are close together you'll probably be donating units. Broodlords are probably the safer option...

Re: Starcraft 2 : The Space-Themed Warcraft 3

It sounds to me like the matchmaking is pretty terrible for 3v3 and 4v4 randoms, though... I mean, when it finds 8 players, 4 platinums, 1 diamond, 1 master and 2 bronzes (as in ixtellor's example earlier)... it should be able to separate that into 2 vaguely balanced teams. Instead it makes one team...

Mini sentries work well on all koth maps, unless the enemy team has a few good soldiers or maybe heavies. Even then switching around your other weapons can focus it better. On other types of maps they're much more situational.

I kind of wonder if there's some programming issues behind that. To be honest, roaches as meatshields with hydras behind should be more effective than pure roaches and against thors. Zerglings would make even better meatshields than roaches because of overkill. I kinda felt like it was going rather badly before that. The commentators kept saying he really couldn't compete with just 2 bases, but getting more bases just meant he lost them because they were too far apart to defend. Ultralisks weren't really going to work though, no.

I find scouting useful (I'm in silver but often play vs gold) because it tends to give me time to react to fast attacks by chronoboosting units, building cannons or possibly searching for a pylon if they went forge first.
