Re: Run 10,000 miles

I feel guilty for saying this but you're never going to make it... It takes me a whole three weeks to cycle just 1500 miles, dawn till dusk, every day. At your current rate it will take you well over a year to complete. My advice is either settle down for a long hard slog or change the unrealistic ...

Re: Run 10,000 miles

I don't have vibrams yet, but I had that problem when I first switched to forefoot running. It will pass. Hopefully you don't get weird shinsplints like I did, though. Actually I think they, along with new running shoes that are more right for my feet, actually helped me to recover from the shin sp...

I'll tack on two more miles from this afternoon.

38.5 + 2 = 40.5

I use metric though 'cause I'm from Canuckistan, but I'll round to the nearest tenth of a mile.

Re: The Official Running thread!

So I'm back in action, and back to working towards my 5K goal of 20 minutes, with a race in march. The tack I'm taking is starting at 2K, which was a couple weeks ago, and go up 200m per workout day in a week, then do the same pattern, but up everything by 200m the next week. No increases of more th...

Hey everyone, been a while since I've posted here, but I'm back. Been dealing with a leg injury pretty much on and off all summer; finally convinced myself to get an x-ray done even though it hasn't bothered me the last couple weeks. What's it called when you try to point to the occurrence of an unlikely thing happening as evidence that this event was directed by something else? I know I'm mangling it, but more specifically I'm asking about Paley's watch argument for the existence of God. He would say that the fact that the uni...

Banking turn, true, lots of force. But last I checked commercial aircraft were rated to 1G manuvers, which inludes barrel rolls. Which is why there is photographic and video proof of a test pilot doing a barrel roll in a 747 during a press release. Yea... almost lost his job over that one. I believ...

How exactly is this possible with the way airspace is monitored these days? It's not like he has a flight plan logged with any airline. That's the thing about the flight plan; largely, and at least in Canada, it's basically a piece of paper that says 'I'm coming from here and going here; if I don't...

Awesome to hear, Taiyo, keep on rockin'! And don't forget, that 10-minute mile, you can run a much quicker pace over that shorter distance, so that target may not be as far off as you think. It feels like a muscle issue mostly. Like I've not warmed up enough. I can run fine before dinner for example.
