Re: 1193: Externalities

It seems the hash engine be running off of python3 and the pySkein module. Well, that's exciting. This thread has reports for four implementations of Skein-1024-1024 tested against the string "z". The J-ava, Haskell, and C implementations all agree on one hash and PySkein has another hash...

Re: 1193: Externalities

The Skein 1024 1024 seems to behave differently than ic'd expect. ic have two distinct implementations of Skein 1024 1024 on my machine (1 in J-ava, 1 Haskell) which, for the input "z" (single byte 0x7a), produce the hash indicated below. The Haskell Skein 1024 1024 be that from the skein...

So I finally managed to build a working single stage to orbit spaceplane. Behold the Falcon I

Just before I fired the rocket engine, note the speed and altitude; this was all on airbreathing engines up until now

A stable orbit! Not very circular (Apoapsis is 101k) but it's an orbit

Back in atmo and I spy a runway! Hang on Jeb, we're almost home

I veered too close to the edge of the runway and sheared off the left landing gear. I've had worse landings though and at least Jeb is still alive. Success!

I wonder how hard it would be to make a cargo space plane. Ie, a plane that looked like an upside down U, with landing gear on the legs, that carried the rocket ship suspended inside the U. You'd take off using only jet fuel and air, get to a high altitude, drop the rocket, and fly into space witho...
