Re: "Two Mirrors"

Without claiming I believe or do not believe in the existence of anything supernatural, I do think if anything were to exist I wouldn't be able to see it anyway, as I'm sure my mind would be unable to handle such an event, and would subsequently ignore it. That doesn't mean you're witness to a supe...

Don't know much about KOTOR, but "HK-47" sounds an awful lot like the name of a product from Heckler and Koch, which would be appropriate for an assassin droid.

Which deserves to be seen by more people: Kamichu vs. Aria

That is, which anime is more deserving of fame and popularity, and thus should have a larger audience than it currently has?

I recently finished one of his short story collections, Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman . I like how his stories tend to be surreal, but they sometimes went too far and sailed clean over my head. (I've recently learned he was inspired to write "Tony Takitani" after buying a T-shirt with that ...

Out of curiosity, does anyone here know what the Island Snow place out in Kailua is like? It was good enough for Barack Obama, so I'd imagine it's worth visiting.

(He also visited a place somewhere in Hawaii Kai on his Christmas vacation here, so info on that would be nice too.)

Re: The "Dune" Thread -- Remember to wear your crysknife!

I've read the original, but haven't bothered to read any of the sequels, partly on the advice of a friend (who never felt the need to read them) and partly because Frank Herbert's death forced the series to end on a cliffhanger. I take it that's something I should reconsider, at least for the two bo...

What I want to know is why no one writes a simplified version of an EULA (that doesn't force one to wade through paragraphs upon paragraphs of legalese) and puts it up parallel to the full version. Creative Commons does this with all their licenses, in that they simplify them down to a few key sente...

It's especially convenient that they're low in calories. (They are, right? I mean, ice plus flavoring?) I've never thought about that, actually.
