Large tidal flats often have channels in them where the water drains when the tide goes out. One might reasonably call these rivers, and they can move around. No hope for tides, maybe no rain falling, floodlights left (just outside the visible frame), Megan and her guy having a good time elsewhere. This can go on for days. Weeks. Months! Eroding a sand castle in a black and white pixel world is something even much less gifted people than Randall could do....
