Re: Why aren't tv's oval shaped?

Basically for the reasons already given: 1. Cuboids are much easier to arrange 2. You can't have a nice, square Cartesian array of pixels in an oval. You'd be wasting a whole bunch of them. Unless my parents are BSing me, TVs used to be circular, and their diameter was given as the size. Which is wh...

They're finally making GS3?
And for a console that I own?

I want it. I hope there's enough story left, though. They'd just about wrapped everything up at the end of Lost Age.

I had the opposite problem once: My alarm is really old, the "PM" and "Alarm" lights are just little LEDs, so I occasionally mix them up. I set my alarm for something like 9 PM instead of 9 AM and grossly missed class. Now I have a small back-up alarm that has better AM / PM dist...

I never got the hang of programming my TI-89 Titanium, but once I learned C++, I made a matrix program to help with some busy work my linear algebra teacher had assigned. This has probably been posted, but it's not really my job to trawl through old posts: The misconception that Macintoshes are not Personal Computers simply because Apple makes them. Today I Learned that it's a good idea to chart your sleep cycle, in case you happen to come down with a fever, headache, and possibly strep infection the next day.

I also learned that I can swallow small Ibuprofen pills. Lots of them. Too many, probably, but apparently fevers aren't good to have.

Re: Favorite free energy/perpetual motion machine type scheme?

You set up a large wheel and place a gravity-blocking device under half of the wheel.

Now, one side has weight, and the other side doesn't. The side that has weight applies a constant torque to the wheel, which accelerates at a constant rate.
