Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

I build all my decks to be exactly sixty cards, with the only exceptions being the following: a) Battle of Wits deck (which I refuse to play or build) b) Highlander/EDH (which I also don't play, as none of my friends do either) c) Draft or Sealed Deck (in which case forty is the absolute number I us...

A brilliant play that happens more frequently than you'd expect. Opponent is tapped out say removing myr retrieves from the game last turn or something, tap all land, sacrifice all artifacts to the ironworks, itself included, this usually includes two thirds of my land. Plunge into Darkness for one...

Re: Create a Card: MTG

Anoyingly the Multiple targets on Storm bolt was an after thought. It was originally just X damage to target creature or player for each spell on the stack. Meaning on it's own it did nothing, with another on the stack it was a slightly more expensive blaze and with two or more, quite a bit better....

Not a mistake I've made myself (at least, not that I remember, but then again, I'm the "rules lawyer" type in our group), but one that I've had to correct numerous times is people not realizing exactly what "Protection from x" means. "Protection from x" means that the t...

EDIT: Also, how do you guys shuffle your decks? Overhand shuffling doesn't seem to get them mixed up very well, and I don't really want to Bridge shuffle such pretty cards... I tend to use card sleeves, so a straight-up bridge shuffle doesn't work too well, plus it runs the risk of getting cards st...

I definitely want to read and participate in this discussion, as it sounds extremely interesting. However, they do tend to give you the sense that a certain direction &quo...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons (and other tabletop RPGs)

The easiest way to favor humans over other races (in my opinion) is probably to make it require a higher number of feats to either get the class or to make it work well. That way humans (with their bonus feat at 1st level) can get to the prestige class or use it effectively earlier than everyone els...
