Re: Easy DDR-related puzzle

I'm weird. I can pass max 300 on a ddr cabinet but not so deep heavy. About half way through the patterns just blur together for me, it's all too similar but varying just enough to make it hard to keep with.

Curse youuuu so deep!

Your unit seems to have carried the entire city with it, Gojoe.

Btw, this game reminds me of a cross between Advance Wars (or equivalent) and Feeble Chess.

Re: Strategy Board Game

1) Your first step is to create new units. If you control any empty uncontested city hex's at the start of your turn, you may place a unit in that city hex oriented in any direction. That unit may not move this turn. You control a city if you have a unit in a hex next to that city. That unit may st...

OK, have a TD logic puzzle. I'm playing a TD with towers that are 2x2 and block creeps. The field is w blocks wide (for odd or even w) and I have a finite amount of money to spend on towers that shoot one creep at a time and are all the same. What setup would a. hold creeps the longest? b. do the mo...

Which of these methods of integrating cos^3(x) is incorrect?

cos^3(x) = cos^2(x)cos(x) = (1-sin^2(x))cos(x) [by pythagorean identity] = cos(x)-sin^2(x)cos(x) [by distributive property] Let u = sin(x) such that du/dx = cos(x) and thus sin^2(x)cos(x)dx = u^2du = u^3/3 = sin^3(x)/3 Integrated = sin(x) - sin^3(x)/3 cos^3(x) = cos^2(x)cos(x) = 1/2(cos(x))(1+cos(2x...

Re: Why can't I get this simple calculus problem right?

And if that's not how you apply the law of cosines I'm a monkey's uncle. No, I just meant that the law of cosines is c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab*cos(theta) , but you used c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - ab ... Cos60 is 1/2, which cancels out the 2. You'll notice I left both out. Hint: Try letting b move along the x-ax...

Re: Why can't I get this simple calculus problem right?

The second method I tried was to use the cosine rule, drawing a and b as sides of a triangle changing with time, the distance between the two points c the third angle of the triangle opposing an angle of 60 degrees. Thus, r = sqrt(a^2+b^2-ab). This yielded r = 10sqrt(21t^2+15t+25), a curiously diff...

I really prefer 'mazing' type TDs, where you have terrain to work with and the runners have to hook around your towers. Then your tower placement *really* starts to matter. A good example is Cube Defense, a map in warcraft 3. 'Fixed Track' TDs are relatively easy to analyze in comparison. Find the ...

Tower Defense games

Firstly, I'd just like to make sure that such a genre fits in logic puzzles. So, I've been interested in TDs lately and want this thread ...
