What? Why? There's lots of ways to interpret that that make sense.

Moving charge to an internal capacitor, sending off a charged particle beam, just redistributing charge along the hull to give it poles, etc.

Re: Is Java is a bad language for beginners?

Read The pitfalls of Java as a first programming language . While you didn't offer any summary, 30 seconds of searching tells me that that book's thesis is that Java is bad because it hides system details like pointers and memory management. I disagree completely, although I also think Java is a po...

All considered, we should probably fix that once-a-month part. It's kinda annoying.

Maybe we should make all the entrances have water barriers?

Re: EMPs - why don't they affect living organisms?

Just to elaborate on the above post, an EMP damages electric circuits because every little wire acts like an antenna. An EMP is a very very powerful broadband radio pulse, so strong that even wires that weren't designed to be antennas pick it up anyway, and the resulting signal is so strong that it...

I'm in the same boat as Aiea. I started with 2nd when I was frighteningly young, but 3rd fixed so many of its flaws. Right now, I'm really enjoying Pathfinder as a sort of D&D 3.75; it works really well and is still mostly-compatible. 4th is fun, but feels more like playing WoW than D&D.
