I'm no in the UK, but I live in the USA. Close gnough.

I'm opposed to the death penalty. We still have it over here, but I didn't know the UK didn't. I've heard it's not an effective deterrent, but I don't actually have data on that.

It's half accurate. The sruff about shallow knowledge and not paying atteb=ntion I disagree with. For example, inn the essay itself it talks about a nerd's deep computer knowledge and ability to multitask. The rest is more or less right, but I imagine it varies quite a bit from nerd to nerd.

Homemade borg costume. With leds and a spinning mechanical claw (old Beetleborgs toy). I also made myself a t-rex skeleton costume a few years ago out of paper mache, clay, and cardboard. It was the best.

I got the idea from a thread in the Books forum.

I watched a sci-fi movie a long time ago. People lived on a non-rotating planet where it was daytime all the time, and there was a boiy who could turn into animals. At one point the bad guy puts a parasitic worm into the good guy's foot. Any ideas?
