Re: Confessional Shed - I'll keep a look-out

I'm not really a good ranter. Maybe I just lack the necessary degree of hatred and bitterness, or I just can't disinhibit myself enough to be really aggressive. I thought the shit in the shape of a swastika was a nice touch though.

I tend to think that if we avoid militancy as atheists, we have more of a right to slate the catholic church for being closed-minded. Am I wrong?

Re: Today I Learned

I did the same with the Katamari Damacy soundtrack the other day. This had the downside of getting "na na, na na na na na na, na na katamari damacy" stuck in my head, but such is the price of insanely bouncy songs in Japanese and proto-English. never listened to katamari damacy. Allow me ...

Re: Whiteness and Masculinity Club (Good or Bad?)

Just to complicate matters, there's such a thing as white against white racism. I know. I went to a welsh language school, and you went through hell there if you were English. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it's true. I won't go into the details, because frankly they're disturbing, but racism is...

pasta bakes are good, podbaydoor. You basically make pasta, mix it with loads of tuna and mayonaise and sweetcorn and stuff, bake it, then you can eat it hot or cold. Apologies if you've already thought of them.

Well, I dunno what to say to that really. I mean, I'm male and white. I don't have a moustache though :D
This puzzles me. I mean, I wouldn't join a whites-only club just because of the connotations, really. But I can't see why a non-racist white club couldn't exist.

Um, but I can also see how a 'white man's club' could be a bit of a problem- it's s...

Re: Whiteness and Masculinity Club (Good or Bad?)

I think there's the possibility of polarisation here- some white males feel they're being blamed excessively for discrimination, so they go into this 'there's nothing wrong with being male and white' camp. I just don't feel more little camps and labels are what's going to help our society, sorry.

If somebody uses gay as an insult and you call them, for example, a 'gayboy' and start mock-schmoozing them, is that in itself homophobic? I feel I may have fucked up here.
