Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

show speculation (trigger: rape) It seems that they are going to be giving Sansa a good bit more plot. I assume this because I read about her parents coming to visit while she was filming a rape scene. I hope this means that she is going to have a good bit more plot, but with the recent GoT episode...

This is why other forums use a "book discussion" thread and a separate "no book discussion" thread. I accidentally spoiled somebody the same way a page or so ago.

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

They've already used up half of Bran's ADwD plot. Is he really going to spend the next two seasons walking to the cave and then becoming a super warg thing? and more book stuff No, they will have to move him forward I'd guess. They have already used up all of Sansa's plot. If she is...

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

I'm sure they just want to give him something to do next season. He isn't in Feast and they likely don't want to leave him out or move to far into aDwD next season. What happens to him at the end of aDwD will likely be saved for the endish of season 6. It seems its going to be a lot of ...

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

It is interesting that out of that whole episode there are only a few things that are relevant to future episodes. 1) Ygrette is dead 2) Tormund is captured 3) The Wildlings are at the wall but have thus far failed to conquer it. 4) Jon is heading out to kill Mance. As far as I recal...

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

Be careful reading that spoiler, show watchers, because it probably spoils what happens in the next episode. Admittedly, it's something that's been hinted at in the show. Next episode, per the book: Stannis shows up while Jon is treating with Mance. Spoiler for the episode itself, safe to read as lo...

Some variants in how it went in the book that may influence how it goes in the series:

Spoiler:
It's made clear from the start that Oberyn's spear was poisoned, and Oberyn's skill with poisons is discussed at length in the books as well. He's called "The Red Viper" for a reason.

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

He was actually (book version of s4e8) holding Clegane's own sword over his head, demanding that he confess before he plunged it through the visor of his helmet (which did not come off in the book) when Clegane grabbed him in what, I believe, was described as a bear hug and then crushed/...

He also had more friends than just Sam in the books. The characters are there in the series, but they don't say or do much. The dad from Pramface makes a pretty solid Dolorous Edd, though.

More to the point, speed limits (and the fines issued therefore) are an example of the issue being discussed, not the issue itself. They may not even be relevant all that much longer, I'm pretty sure children born in the next few years will be the last for whom getting a driver's license is in any w...

Re: Can (and should) judicial punishment benefit society

I think you're misunderstanding the objection to speed limits being raised here. The issue is with using speed limit fines as a revenue source rather than as a disincentive to speed. I don't recall anyone being opposed to speed limits in general, just to how they are being enforced right now.

Sorc is probably not the best way to go for a first playthrough. It's really dependent on finding all the right spells and catalysts, and they aren't really obvious in locations.

It's not so much an issue of "I have disposable income, so I can go 100 down the highway with no fear of the repercussions" as an issue of "I don't have disposable income, so one speeding ticket could financially ruin me."

Can (and should) judicial punishment benefit society

I don't know how you do this in the rest of the world, but in the US minor infractions (speed limit violations are probably the most common) are punished with a fine. This makes sense on the face of it. The punishment is reasonably light for what is ultimately a minor infraction, and the municipalit...

Well a fad diet isn't the same thing as a planned diet. A planned diet is going in knowing what your body needs and what is in your food and building your diet to provide that. Fad diets, by contrast, are built largely around ignorance.

Veganism end up just being an arbitrary res...
