Brilliant. :D This is often the case where I work too - although I'm sure its the same at most places... Day 1 of project: Yep, we expect to completely satisfy the clients needs and are confident we'll meet the delivery dates. 11.30pm on the night before release to client: Err screw it. That'll have...

Re: "Future" Discussion

I'm enjoying the fact that this comic, like so many other xkcd comics, is just a rorschach test for the people who read it and then go into the forums to argue about it. Pretty awesome. Indeed. Although I'd argue(!!) that its a discussion, rather than an arguement. 8) I'm sticking with my original ...

Re: "Future" Discussion

I have to agree with Moo. You can't ignore the fact that the comic is called Future and is styled the way it is. If it was just a 'come with me, yes or no' comic, there would be no need for the divided boxes, the long drawn out speech bubbles etc. In my opinion it is clear that the guy on the right ...

Re: "Wasteland" discussion

I don't think you can find it anything but sad with an alt text like that! Yea that is true. However, I always felt that the comic and its alt text were seperate. Often, you don't need the alt text to understand or appreciate the comic. So the comic, for me, was good/funny because it wasnt expected...

Re: "Find You" discussion

This is absolutely my favourite comic. I have no emotional or poignant story/memory that I relate it to, but even still it has such an amazing sentiment and the words do sound like something from a book, film, poem or whatever. I like the funny comics for their humour but this one wins as it has mea...

Re: "Ballmer Peak" Discussion

Brilliant :D

This applies to pool too, by the way. I am pretty confident that I become much better after a few drinks, but it peaks like this comic so it'll only take one more drink to tip me over the edge and back into playing crap :D

I pity Domovoi. Not because his standards of adventure are high, or because he's being insulted for having unpopular opinions. I pity him because tongiht was the night the woman rapelled down from from his roof, knocking on windows looking for someone to go on an adventure with, and he missed it be...

"Exciting and unexpected things rarely happen, and when they do, they'll kill you, be disappointing, or unpleasant." Yep, that's pretty much how I feel. Which isn't an opinion on adventures, he's declaring how the world works as a point of fact. No, he's declaring how his world works, not...

Pedantry for the win? I wasnt really being pedantic, no. I think that there is a difference between something being enjoyable or different or fun, and something being an adventure. It had already been stated much earlier in the thread that this person didnt find these certain things to be an advent...

Aye sorry, the troll comment, as per my quoted part, was really directed at Invisible Queen - one of the only posts in this thread that I felt was pretty unnecessary as a response. I just wanted to chip in and agree, to some extent, with Domovoi's points. If his idea of an adventure is way above mos...

I agree with the opinions in this thread - that is, those opinions that state that if you never take the risk and do something, you'll never know if it'll lead to an 'adventure'. But I also agree with those people that said that the definition of an adventure is up to the individual. Some find types...

In light of the missing intro thread, I'll just go ahead and add my 'hello' to this one. I've not actually been sat here reading for 2 weeks straight). So ...
