Re: 1086: "Eyelash Wish Log"

Wishing for zero wishes is a meta-wish causing a paradox wherein the wish itself doesn't exist.

They dodge a bullet with "Quiche Lorraine", but after "Watermelon", I'm drawing a big fat blank.

Re: 1013: "Wake Up Sheeple"

The joke of the last panel is that it's only megahorn guy who doesn't get it. The woman next to him, the people in the background all act as if this is natural. It's not just a stick figure yelling "Oh god oh god oh god" it's the "Why did you do that!" part that's important, the...

Re: 1002: "Game AIs"

The thing with ultra-strong video game AI is it has the advantage of perfect knowledge of the playing field and perfect knowledge of the positions of all enemy players. It doesn't have to squint to see a camouflaged human against a like colored background, it doesn't have to guess which direction th...

Re: 1002: "Game AIs"

Personally I would not accept a computer winning a game of counterstrike/starcraft versus a human as fair unless it was interpreting the images and sending the appropriate mouse/keyboard commands, at a somewhat realistic speed. Particularly starcraft, it's just not "fair" that the compute...

Re: 0938: "T-Cells"

This news is old... In Internet terms, a week's lead is like reading news in the paper a month later! Still, even though this may not eventually pan out, it's a fantastic step forward in the fight against cancer. Now if we could only use carcinogens (like nicotine) to cure STDs... I've got the tagli...

Re: 0908: "The Cloud"

Somehow I always knew that that was what the "Cloud" looked like. All smoke and mirrors requiring users to cache gigabytes of data themselves.

Though I imagined it would look frumpier... with a flower vase on top of it.

Re: 0900: "Religions"

Whoever said that three going into one was a mystery has never seen Siamese triplets... or read "The Dark Half" --- Whenever I hear the phrase: "May the Force be with you" in a movie house, I have to stifle the urge to shout out: "And also with you... AMEN!" --- And thi...

Re: 0897: "Elevator Inspection"

Anyone is welcome to view the elevator inspection certificates. They're on display in a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leopard". In a cellar in which the lights have gone... and so have the stairs. Are they stored beside the...

Re: " One Two" Discussion

Is it sad that, as an education major, I laughed out loud at the alt-text? Loud enough to actually post about it, after lurking here for months.
