Very stupid issue with some code in G++

The program was a group project that's already been graded, but I remain confused that the thing would compile and somehow even run in VS2010 with nothing more than a lot of warnings about comparing loop indexes to vector sizes and like...but when attempting to compile the same source under linux wi...

Re: 0967: Prairie

So whenever a physicist says "observe", mentally replace it with "hit with shit". The waveforms collapses when hit with shit . When you hit a photon wave with shit it collapses into a particle. ...Troublingly, that makes it sound like they're throwing poo at the waves, monkeyways.

Heheh, scarier still is when you think of the rogue theory that posits a moon-sized nuclear fission reactor right under you.

Crud, what has google done?! All I wanted was to search for MD5#f7eac285ebfe21c4587bfebb9582f90d.

Forgive my impudence, I seek trig integral homework help.

It started out as integral 0 to pi of sin^2(t)*cos^4(t)dt . I pulled a (sint*cost)^2 out and hit each bit with the appropriate half-angle identity, gleaning (1/2*sin2t)^2*1/2*(1+cos2t) , thus 1/8*sin^2(2t)*(1+cos2t) , then hit the sin^2 term with its h...

Re: I should not be having such difficulty with this thing...

...well played Yesila, well played. I see what you were hinting at with the 2sqrt(x)sqrt(y) bit. That is, once I remembered that x is composed of sqrt(x) 2 and killed those pesky denominators, I found that I'd birthed that very term. Pythagoras had mislead me. I just square the whole stoat in the fi...

Re: I should not be having such difficulty with this thing...

Gah, you're right, it's not a circle, as that'd be slope -x/y. I guess I thought it was because it could be said to kind of follow the form x 2 +y 2 =c, if you consider a square root to be the square of the fourth root. I still did the implicit right, though, oddly, 2x -1/2 +2y -1/2 y'=0 2y -1/2 y'=...

I should not be having such difficulty with this thing...

It's an oddball implicit differentiation exercise (yes, it is homework, and as I don't want to come across as asking the internet to do my homework, I'll try to generalize here) but I've reason to believe the trouble stems from the great chunks of oxidation crumbling from my brain's linear functions...

Re: Stupid rational expression simplification question,

Sauce, exactly what I wound up with. Though holding back like that on the multiplication until I had one fraction would've been wise, mine looks like a chaotic maelstrom of terms and exponents and takes up too much space as a result of multiplying the numerator terms through to start with. One step ...

Re: Stupid rational expression simplification question,

Its just grinding it out. Nothing fun at all. Good luck. Blarg, pestilent. Granted, I already did that, and it was vile. Thanks anyway, though. The Quotient Rule Thank you, I'll remember that, and wield it during my discussion section, solving certain examples in my head and murmuring the solutions...

Re: Stupid rational expression simplification question,

you're really supposed to use the limit definition to differentiate that? Are you sure you aren't supposed to do something like ... the quotient rule? Seeing as how the book hasn't even given the delightful power rule shortcut, yes. Also, I've forgotten the quotient rule, though I can't stop my hea...

Stupid rational expression simplification question,

as my anti-telharsic harfatum septomin has sadly become somewhat dull. Is there a smarter way to deal with the mess: ((a 2 +2ah+h 2 +1)/(a+h-2)-(a 2 +1)/(a-2))/h than just (ignoring the all/h for now, unless it's part of said smarter method) multiplying the terms by each other's denominator to find ...

Query, can anyone read that bit of text on the far east of the web1.0 mountains, in the icy north? 'Looks like "cmscm squiggle" under the scrutiny of Opera's hyperzoom.
