Re: Starcraft 2 : The Dune II Clone

I can never keep up with all those acronyms for all the different tournaments and leagues. But they are switching back from SC2 to a mix of SC2 / BW? Why is that? Is BW still that popular? Proleague is a BW tournament that is incorporating SC2 by switching games every season. Or worse, and this is ...

Re: Starcraft 2 : The Dune II Clone

I ran into a guy in a chat channel who in some sense said that the reason he sucks is because he didn't have anyone to talk to about the game. I studied his play in several games, and then played against him myself. I then talked to him for about an hour about every specific mistake he did in the ga...

Re: Mass Effect 3

I'm confused about the lore complaints related to the mass relays, in what cannon did they say that the only way a mass relay could be destroyed would result in a supernova that destroys anything nearby? Yes, colliding an asteroid into one will do that, why is it presumed that you can't des...

Re: Starcraft 2 : The Dune II Clone

That argument ignores the state of the internet and professional gaming (or gaming in general) back in 1998. SC2 has had a massive head start due to the frameworks surrounding it that didn't hardly exist 14 years ago.

Re: Starcraft 2 : The Dune II Clone

That's likely, but when I analyze the games mechanically, I find BW to be more interesting. Why? I'm not really sure. I think most people agree with me, but answering the question of why is incredibly difficult, if not impossible. That hasn't stopped some people from trying though, if I remember rig...

Of course it's terrible writing, we've already established that... I don't think everyone has, but if you admit that then I don't see a point in discussing different interpretations. I can't disprove it, just like every other interpretation. I'm sure anyone can turn lots of stories upside down when they start throwing in wild assumptions. I've seen a lot of people suggest that. The only thing I'll say to it is that If they wanted it to be taken that way, then they could have handled it better regardless. Like this , for instance. I guess I just found it far too contrived for Anderson and Shepard to make it through, with the illusive man there and waiting. I don't mind it on reflection, but it was one more pill to swallow. A few other things: Harbinger talks as though we can't possibly understand what reapers are, an...

That's not even touching on all of the plot holes, though. Why was the Normandy in FTL travel, crew aboard? Did they know what was going to happen, with enough time to spare to pick up the crew? If so, how did they know, and why not 'save' more people (or why leave at all, it seems ...

They're still not doing that very effectively either. That's how they were in BW. Ultras could take a lot of damage, but cracklings had much higher dps. I find that preserving ultras for as long ...
