Re: Mississippi's Personhood Amendment

There is another scenario from Thomson with People Seeds . Which has the "risked the situation" component. On the other hand the seeds grow on the carpet and isn't directly connected to the human (I guess you could replace it with some kind of parasite which grows on the woman and only exi...

Re: Mississippi's Personhood Amendment

falling off a bike and cracking your skull is a possible consequence of riding a bike. there are several ways to mitigate that consequence, one of them is to never ride a bike (abstinence), another is to never fall off the bike (contraception) , and another is to wear a helmet (abortion). A helmet ...

Re: Cats: Indoors or Out

We have a cat flap, but he spends enough time indoor. I just wish our current cat would stop hunting all these birds (we tried a bell but that didn't help) or rather I wish he would stop bringing them into our kitchen. None of our past cats hunted that much. He mostly hunts birds but he got two gold...

Re: IMF Chief arrested in New York for attempted rape

Second, this is all incredibly off topic, so let's bring it back. The fact that this discussion is happening at all, regardless of whether Clinton or Assange are rapists (which is not the topic), serves as proof that Jessica and others are not using an "accusation=guilt" standard. Regardl...

Re: So, about all of those drug-addled welfare queens...

I think it would simply be easier if people were rewarded for not using up their entire foodstamp budget if they can eat cheaper. For example, if a person has $50 left over in their food stamp budget they can get $25 cash back, and use it for clothing or heating. As is, if you have extra in your fo...

Re: So, about all of those drug-addled welfare queens...

So unless you're going to hire a nutritionist for every person on foodstamps, you're not looking out for anyone's health This actually gives me a decent idea - what would you think of a box sort of program for the poor in preference over foodstamps? You have several nutritionists on staff, working ...

Re: Hypocrisy

I just use an ethical system which only says who other people should act, since the system doesn't include myself I can't do anything wrong. It's also hypocritical so I could follow your system too! Btw do you know my brilliant plan do make an clock which never goes wrong? I noticed that a broken cl...

Re: Do you use RSS?

I use the one in opera. I follow many webcomics and mangas and only some have a precise update schedule. I think manually checking webcomics which have infrequent updates is annoying. A rss feed turns "still no update..." every time you check to "hey a new XY update". The only we...
