Three Letters in a Sentence

Postby Adam H » Thu Nov 07, 2013 9:08 pm UTC

There was an old game called the Three Letter Game (or something) where someone posted a string of three letters and then someone else posted a word that contained that string (i.e. "kke?" "Bookkeeper"). This was fun, but eventually we exhausted basically every combination of letters. :)

So in this game, the three letter string can be stretched over multiple words. This will be a lot easier; to make it a bit more difficult/entertaining, the two words must be contained in a logical sentence. For bonus points, try to post a sentence that makes sense in context.

You MUST have thought of a solution for the three letter string that you propose before you post it.

Example:
mnl
Those damn llamas stole my lunch!

Next: eai

Got it? Here we go:

The aileron is broken!

edit: uh, ninjad twice.

My mum got murdered!

If three letters gets too easy we could try four-letter strings.

A xu is a unit of Vietnamese currency, equal to one hundredth of a dong. Hehe, dong. Very few words end with a j, so I'm going to go with "munj", which is a type of grass. So if you find a xu in the munj, you might call that a munj xu? Alternatively, "here I am, driving around in my JXU tractor". I'd be interested to know what patzer's solution was.

Looking for exoplanets is exciting, but measuring their radii is extremely hard.

You shouldn't kvetch about having to measure exoplanet radii if you actually have a job where you get to study exoplanets.

Qoph or Qop (in Modern Hebrew: Qof/Kof, Arabic: Qāf) is the nineteenth letter in many Semitic abjads or alphabets, including the Phoenician, Aramaic, Syriac, and Hebrew 'ק' or the Arabic alphabet qāf 'ق' (in abjadi order).
