So 2 is now also dead as well as 7. Thus, 1 and 8 do not matter any more, except as filler spots; thus, those four columns currently have a total value of *. (Is this correct?)
Also, 6 kills the x.

Let the crosses make their move.

Since someone added column 8 (despite the board starting as a 6x7...), I have taken the liberty of adding a row @ to make the board square.

i just realized there's actually been no common consensus in this game about board size. The game left off at a nonstandard 6x8 in 2007, and when i necro'd the thread i accidentally made it 7x7. it should really probably just be 6x7, but now we have 8x8 which is apparently an acceptable variant, so i guess we should keep it that way for now? when this game finishes, though, we should try doing infinite connect 4 :p

I think Fred accidentally played from the end of page 2 instead of from the last post. (He then made the same move I did).

Also moved the board back to the original 6x8 (that's how this board started originally). (Not that it actually matters - changing the height by one only changes the length of the game by two turns and doesn't change the winner if I'm counting correctly)

why "fuck you"? because you're definitely right about arbitrary connect 4 rules, but everyone else must be wrong? we're not trying to start a fight with you. i just want to make sure everyone's on the same page so we can play the game properly. there's no moderator for this game, so if you want to change things you have to accept other people's input.

...anyways. amidst contention, i think the best option is to stick with 6x7 for right now, because the internet says that is the most common configuration and that was the original intention of the game currently being played when i necro'd it.
