Stick with the majority

Postby Mikemk » Sun May 22, 2016 11:38 pm UTC

This game is simple. Every 13 posts has a question. Everyone posts whether they agree/disagree, yes/no, or their answer if multiple options. The last person in a set asks the new question for the next set, and posts updated scores. Do not answer your own questions.

If you agree with the majority in your set, you gain 1 point.

First question: Would you cut off your own finger for $10,000 USD?

No!

I'm not that materialistic, and it's only 6/7 grand anyway. And it would hurt like hell!

On the other hand, look at it this way: I could cut off one of my own fingers, and then send that amount of money to charity. It would save lives!...

Still probably wouldn't do it. I just... look, going down that route raises multiple psychological and philosophical questions, and I'm too tired for that right now.

Suggestion: 13 posts, or after a week, whichever is shortest (stops the game from lagging due to there only being ~10 players).

"Therefore it is in the interests not only of public safety but also public sanity if the buttered toast on cats idea is scrapped, to be replaced by a monorail powered by cats smeared with chicken tikka masala floating above a rail made from white shag pile carpet."

Agreed, but if it's an even number of people in the set who posted, whoever posted last doesn't get included.

No. Opportunities to reattach, which I hope people are discussing, are ultimately unrealistic.

Edit: I looked after posting. Its almost disappointing not to hear people rules-lawyering about whether they get to keep or reattach the finger. Emlightnened's approach to valuating the finger by the charitable good it would do is interesting but I agree with the final conclusion that it wouldn't be worth it.
