Wikipedia wars

Postby Lawrencelot » Tue Nov 15, 2016 4:22 pm UTC

1. Choose a side: Team A or Team B. Both teams have a target (see below).
2. Open the link in the last post. It should be a link to a Wikipedia article.
3. Click on one of the clickable words in the article and post the link to the new Wikipedia page.
4. If one of the targets is reached, the team that has that target wins a point and new targets are assigned by using the 'random article' button on Wikipedia.

Players are not allowed to double-post, but teams are (so don't worry about who is the last poster, as long as it is not you).
You are not allowed to go back and forth.

Team A (0 points): Lawrencelot, somitomi
Team B (0 points): plytho

Assigning random targets...
Target for Team A: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cnicht
Target for Team B: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobogiona_the_Elder

We start on a random page as well... go!

This game kind of already exists in an online version for single player: http://thewikigame.com/6-degrees-of-wikipedia
Please be gracious in judging my english. (I am not a native speaker/writer.)

Of course, that's what this game is based on (didn't know that particular site though). Here we do a team version.

Aight. I join team A, based on noone else having joined it.
And my move is:

they/them/theirs = he/him/his ❖ If you want to use something else out of dadaist spite, I won't mind.

This isn't from the text of the article but from the block about cultural assimilation at the bottom is that ok?

Yes that's fine. You can also use the categories. Anything that is still on the article.

I'm starting to wonder whether this game really works... at least 1vs1 doesn't seem to work so well.

Yeah it seems pretty endless this way. But I like the idea of a Wikipedia game. What if we had multiple hidden targets?

The first team A player puts 5 targets in a spoiler, idem for team B. Any target gets a point.

Is it cheating to use the Special:WhatLinksHere too to help you decide yor next move?

e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:W ... ere/Cnicht

I consider it cheating for myself, but you're allowed to use anything.

I like that idea. Let's call this one a draw.

Here are team A's 5 random targets (team B is not allowed to look):

After Team B posts their 5 random targets, they may continue from here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Mountain_ranges_of_Georgia_(country)
