Where in the World...

Postby kaimason1 » Fri Feb 26, 2010 8:05 pm UTC

OK, new OP as the last one was outdated. The point of the game is to find the challenger in twenty questions or less. First to do so is new challenger.

RULES (we are currently in voting mode on a set of rules):
1. New rule: pagetoppers, please post a link to current challenge in your post (so we can find what challenge we are looking at from any page)
2. Ask yes or no questions about the location.
3. Three agrees and the challenger posts answer.
4. First to find the location and post it is new challenger.
5. You may ask for a hint after the 10th question.

SUGGESTIONS:
1. Newbies, here are it's former threads, in reverse chronological order, so you can learn our basics:
Phrozt
Oagersnap
UAPGS and Me
Captainwalrus and Vieto
2. PM me with any records which are made during a game; I will add them to the record board.
3. Useful Maps (1):
Spoiler:
zone.png

4. Each question should roughly half the possible area.
5. Please don't censor things out of your picture.
6. It would be appreciated for challengers to wait to answer a question if there is a disagree and reasonable debate.

Records (please inform me if these are wrong):
Longest game (in questions): Challenger oagersnap; 19 questions
Longest game (in time): Challenger oagersnap; 54 days, 2 hours, 58 minutes
Shortest game (in questions): Player kaimason1; 6 questions
Shortest game (in time): Player kaimason1; 2 days, 19 hours, 33 minutes

Probably be a good idea to include the rules in the OP. Will post my picture shortly.

These are the rules:
You have to guess where I am based on the picture below.
You can only ask "yes/no"-questions; someone proposes a question, and if three other people agree with it, I will answer it. I will only answer 20 questions in total.
After question 10, I will give you a hint if you ask for it.

(Posting the rules until Kaimason gets 'em right)

ALSO: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING

I thought the point of the separate threads was that the thread creator could edit his/her first post to add questions that have been answered.

edit: I agree.

The user location isn't necessarily the game location. The game location is just wherever is chosen randomly by the OP.

While I definitely think he picked his house, or somewhere near his house, let's not jump the gun and see if he's in Houston first.

Are you in Houston, Texas?

No. While that is my present location, that is not the location of the picture I have depicted. Videogamesizzle was correct.

I'm not sure if these are perfectly what you're looking for, but they do distinguish the states east and west of the Mississippi (ok, I don't know which is better, so I'm spoilering them--keep in mind that some of Louisiana is east of the Mississippi, which the first map doesn't show)

Also, "Mississippi River" could be interpreted in different ways, I hope Mishrak means the conventional way shown in the maps.

You mean you hope Mishrak isn't a jerk who "acts smug when he or she is misunderstood". There's only one real way to interpret what Misissipi River means.
