Party! (Judean style)

Postby viergroupie » Thu Sep 20, 2007 3:03 am UTC

While other xkcd'ers arriving early will spend their Saturday getting drunk and playing frisbee, I aim to starve and lament all day long. Anyone know of a free yom kippur service around Cambridge?

You are welcome at B'nai B'rith in Somerville. Tickets = recommended donations, really. Service mostly in Hebrew.

Another choice in Somerville: Havurat Shalom, on College Avenue, a 10-minute walk from Davis Square. No memberships, no tickets, just walk in.

I'm a member of Temple B'nai Brith (mentioned above), but I often stop in at the Hav as well.

And speaking of 'Judean Party' -- anyone else remember this fiasco ?

Wow,
Thanks for the quick replies. Temple B'nai Brith looks a bit more compatible with my conservative day-school background. Does anyone know of a hostel or reasonably priced place to stay near B'nai Brith (201 Central Street)?

Thanks a ton,
Alex

Try these spots?

There's a Holiday Inn on Washington Street and that's about all I know about lodging in Somerville. I generally lodge at my house, and my house has no vacancy. It's too bad you didn't ask with more notice, or we might have found someone at the shul who'd be willing to put you up.

There are a couple of B&Bs near Davis Square. Take a look through the comments to these LJ posts, ignoring the first one.
