ok, ideally we should try to get our hands on a GPS, right?

edit: also, we get our coordinates at 9.30am Friday, New York time.
We're 14 hours ahead of New York so I think we add 14 hours to that i.e. we get our coordinates at 11.30pm Friday, Melbourne time.

We should come online at that point to finalise arrangements :)

Is geohash happening this Saturday/Sunday? I'm in. (:

I'll be in Melbourne this weekend (Sunday until Tuesday). When you get details I'll discuss it with the person I'm staying with.

Wait. What. Friday? Tomorrow? I thought we were talking about Saturday. If it's suddenly been changed to tomorrow then I have no idea what's going on and I won't make it there.

No, everyone is still talking about Saturday. I am also going to be doing today (Friday's) meetup, and was wondering if anyone would like to join me.

Sorry if my message was unclear

I thought that Randall had changed our algorithm so we're meant to meet tomorrow near Duffman's house in Malvern East (we know where you live).

I'm going to try and make it, just because its not in the Dandenongs this week.

No this change means that we get the location at 11:30 (in one hour). There is also a general consensus that we will meet at 2PM.

I've put my photos up here: http://picasaweb.google.com/haxtheplanet/Geohashing20080621
Most of them came out a bit blurry though :( Gnat, Tim? Did you end up with better ones?

Here are my photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27250906@N ... 744104088/
Most of mine were blurry too, but eh. The photos aren't what matters anyway. We had a great time. :D

I found out later that the person I was going to meet after geohashing is friends with Alex the bike guy. I thought it was pretty cool.

So...anyone wanna do something crazy sometime soon?
How about making pizza instead of buying it? That could have interesting outcomes :)

I do like the idea of making pizzas for this, that was entertaining last time I tried, and with xkcd involved it can only get better, I think.

hmm, making pizza would be great. A friend of mine and very keen xkcd fan should be back in Melbourne for a bit soon, maybe I can invite him too. Where would we make pizza though?

Bruce that looks like something dead!

I remember at one of my birthdays quite a while ago there were blue pancakes and green french toast. It was brilliant. Half the people were terrified of the food which meant the rest of us were allowed twice as much each :D

I'd be happy to bring some food to your house Bruce.

And to share my cooking, this is what happened the last time I made pizza:

Spoiler:
Macaroni cheese pizza, tasty. Less cheese next time, though.

I was planning to try getting to the geohash point this weekend, but after that I cant really do anything.

Okay, so friday night would probably work, but I'm not sure that counts as the weekend anyway :P

So pizza hits home with a lot of people then? I am definitely in for pizza-ing, any time really, just agree on a date.
Maybe if each person beings one normal ingredient and one strange ingredient which they believe will rock on pizza. This could be interesting..

Anyone planning to do saturday's geohash? Both east and west are not great for people reliant on public transport but where there's a will there's a way...
