I have it all sorted on my end, all they need to do is put the money in my account, so I'm strangely optimistic that the postal strike won't sod that up. I should be good to go by the 14th.
I do like the museum/gallery/shop/attraction idea. If we can make a day of it, that'd be pretty spiffy. I'm thinking: Ice-cream, place-you-wanna-see, ice-cream, pub-food-drink, ice-cream, and then something else before more ice-cream.

I'll also be around on the 14th.

One possibility if there isn't a plan already: we could see (some aspect of) the Lord Mayor's Show - there's a procession from 11am to 2:30pm, and fireworks at 5pm.

If people really want ice-cream, I know a good place: Marine Ices, opposite Chalk Farm tube station. (It's not far from Camden market.) There are probably more central locations though.

Casiguapa and I thought it would be nice to go to the British Museum. My friend Toby says they've got an awesome Aztec exhibit at the mo. Then maybe lunch and ice cream for desert, then maybe karaoke?

let's try to catch the fireworks at 5, if they're over the thames, waterloo bridge would give a beautiful view.

This is starting to sound like a plan. Meet at the British Museum in the morning, then lunch with ice cream, then Lord Mayor's Show / more museum / something else, then fireworks, then karaoke. Speaking for myself, I will need some alcohol before attempting karaoke.

But yeah, the museums have so much awesome stuff. Haven't been to the British Museum since I were a wee lad, either.

I personally think something in the Christmas holidays would be good, maybe the 20-22nd?
(19th is my birthday, 23rd is my party, 24th is Chris Eve, 25th is Quaid-e-Azam's Day)

We could all have a freezing cold picnic or go to a museum/gallery/event etc. A Winter meet-up would be fun I should think, but if anyone else has any other proposed dates we could see what's going on in London around that time.

If it makes it any better, I won't be able to attend either! We can be lonely together. I wonder where are there the least forumites - Africa, Asia or South America. I also wonder if that sentence was grammatically correct.

I would suggest changing "least forumites" to "fewest forumites". Fewest tends to refer to individually counted things (apples, oranges, people), while least tends to refer to things that are counted as quantities (liquids, powders etc.).

Back on topic, I'm afraid I would not be able to attend a meet any time around Christmas; I will be far too busy with my meatspace friends.

Looks like the only way this'd happen is if I sat alone in a park somewhere holding an XKCD banner hoping fans will brave the freezing cold to come along and talk.

Hmm.

I'm beginning to think December is rather impractical.
