Ok, so the americanada thread looks dead. Better take matters into my own hands...

Whose up for a meet up in Seattle? I suggest gasworks park as a location, and a friday around noon for a time.

Any takers?

Haha, I just came into this thread thirty seconds before you did. I clicked on the "report post" thing, and when I finished, you had posted.

Well, it's amusing to me .. .

Hooray! Although I suspect more people = more fun, so I hope we can gather up a few more forumites for this.

Do we have any general dates/plans yet?

I think if we have a set location and time and a longer leadup it'll actually happen. Like, September 5th or 6th maybe.

What would you suggest in terms of location? There's a cinema near my new place, as well as a pretty awesome cafe/restaurant thingy.

EDIT: "My new place" is in Bellevue, just so people know.

Heh, that's Bumbershoot weekend. I'll be highly occupied, unless people want to have a meetup at Bumbershoot. That would be excellent, actually.

Does that happen to be Lincoln Square? Because that is pretty close for me/I like that place.

Actually, that was a random suggestion that happened to be a weekend. It was mostly as an example.

It *can* be Lincoln Square - I've been there a fair bit and I quite like it, but the one I was referring to is like, a half-outdoors shopping complex.

EDIT: Crossroads Bellevue Shopping Centre is the name, I think.

Ah yes, I know that place too. Well, if we can find a group of people willing to go sometime (weekends are indeed preferable, and I'm much more available starting in late September), I'm open to either Crossroads or Lincoln or mostly anywhere.

Bellevue sounds alright. Not so much Labor Day weekend though. There's Bumbershoot and PAX both going on that weekend, the latter of which I volunteer at.

Tickets are still on sale at paxsite.com

Too late to get it mailed, but there's will-call. Let me tell you the three-day pass is one hell of a deal. EDIT: less than 1k left, expected to sell out this week.

Damn, 3-day's sold out. I should have ordered earlier. :(

Is there any other option for 3-day passes? Like, will they be at the door?

EDIT: never mind, just bought two one-day's.

I'll be at PAX on Saturday and Sunday if anyone wants to meet me there. Throw me a PM and we'll meet up! Hope to see some of you there.

Pardon my doublepost, but:

CVSoul has some plans to be in the city approximately October 8-13th. Since this is already one step closer to a meetup, it seems like a pretty good time to initiate a full-scale one. I realize this is ages in advance, but I think the extra time might be beneficial (considering we've been bad at actually getting anything together so far).

CV and I did a little discussing, and were thinking something on Oct. 10th (Saturday) would be nice, potentially including the following: Cupcake Royale (on Capitol Hill, maybe), walk downtown to do some sort of fun things, perhaps some geocaching, and anything else cool that somebody thinks of.

Bainbridge Island is nice enough suffer-cait, but there isn't a whole lot to do on the island, there are some nice parks, but they're all pretty small. Most of the interesting stuff is private property. Still, I'd say it's worth coming over with a friend.

and getting back to the issue at hand, October is most likely doable for me, I almost never have any other engagements.
