I know I'm new and all, but I'd be down for something bay-area-ish.

w00t! now which weekend shall we decide upon?

I like Saturdays best... if only because of obligations on Sunday early evenings

Some saturday in October I'm down for, just not on the 6th. I have a...really nerdy thing to attend to, involving a certain time period, silly costumes, and making fun of the "queen."

And lots of drinking of course. It's way more fun after the patrons leave...

I'm from Melbourne Australia and I'll be in San Francisco from 17 Nov - 30 Nov. Anyone want to meet up?

I approve of the side of the Bay that you are on. It is the side that is easier for me to get to.

I occasionally drive "over the hill" from Reno. If a large enough gathering evolves, I might make it.

Unfortunatly there hasn't been much taste it seems for a meetup, besides bakemaster and myself plotting on finding some tasty brown ale.

I would love there to be a big holiday-time meetup, grab food, catch a drink, share and talk geekery, etc.

Wine tasting, anyone? I would make a special trip for that. Some of that might be spawn friendly?

I will be in the Napa Wine Country and San Francisco.
Baring disaster I will be there Monday, December 9th, 2014 Tuesday December 10th, 2014 and Wednesday December 11th 2014.

I must carve out a little time to do as I am told by people I have never met.
Then I can do as I please. My plans so far are to do things I like to do.

I like to go up to the Marin Headlands and Look at the Bridge.
I like to go up to the Twin Peaks and Look at the City.

In the Wine Country, I like to throw myself in Hot Water.
The Wine Country has very high quality water.

You can sit by the pool and get drunk on sweet wine.
I'll float by and splash water on you. Or; Not.

I have heard about this hot water. I might make a trip over the hill for that. (I often go to relax at a spring/spa here near Reno, but they don't serve wine.)

Oooooo! Hot water, wine and bread sounds like a wonderful combo. Do they have cheese too?

Monday morning I have something to do in Reno, but after that, I can drive over Donner pass (weather permitting!!). I'm pretty sure I know which hot springs, but would you PM me the name of the place? And do they have accommodations - or do you recommend a place to stay? I can hang out Monday afternoon and most of Tuesday, then head back that afternoon/evening.

I will be wearing my XKCD letter shirt. 8-)

That amazes me.
You can get to the Wine Country in less than a day from Reno?
In the Winter??

What is The World coming to?

Yes. I will PM.
Why PM?

If anyone from The Forum reads this and wants to show up,
I think, they would be welcome.

Monday, after five, I will be able to leave The City.
Are you inclined to go into The City?

Wine country from Reno is approx 4 hours-ish.

(phew) How? How could it take me three hours to drive 70 miles?
I must be doing the Math wrong.

(phew) Those miles are almost as long as European Kilometers.
ok. I understand xkcd Posters from the Bay Area not traveling 100 miles on a whim.

Bay area traffic, on a Monday. Yuck.

70 miles in three hours is actually pretty good.

I want to try it again.
Bay Area Meet Up?

I must be in The City the afternoon of Thursday the 19th of March.
I know how to find The SafeWay by the Boats, next to Fort Mason.

A picnic in The Park might be fun.
It is a beautiful city, for an American City.

The park is a fairly good place to see it from.

weekdays are difficult for me, as I work buisness hours. Hope you can get it together though, mid-morning is better for picnics in the city, as the wind picks up pretty early in the afternoon.

So I live in the Bay Area now! Oakland to be precise. Super close to a BART stop, so maybe let's find a coffee shop or something that works for people because I don't really need an event as an excuse to meet up, just having a conversation with interesting people is good enough for me, and I would love to tap your knowledge about this area, since we moved here less than a month ago. Hit me up y'all!
