Well, I'm still wearing the hat...

We will get photos at some point, but cut Tegan some slack because she's not well and going away tomorrow for a few days, and may not be able to put them up.

Ok, now which ones were you; @helios and mikey (colour shirts or somesuch would suffice)? I knew you were forumites, but I didn't catch who was which one.

Hey kids! I am so sorry I was all sick and out of it for the latter half of the evening. Yes, I have lots of wonderful pictures but I'm going away from any minute now all the way til Monday, so they should be on Facebook on Monday evening. It was wonderful to see you all again and to meet some new people also :)

First post (the intro thread said I no longer needed to post there, but if i missed something let me know. Also be gentle :) )

Hi,

I have read Xkcd for a while now, just never had anything important to say so never bothered registering on the site. However due to increasing amounts of boredom I have decided to come out of my shell and if possible will hopefully attend the next Sydney meetup. So I hope you organise another one, or i'll have wasted a good 5 minutes typing this :P.

Less interesting stuff:
Name: Steve.
A/S/L: 23/M/sydney(ashfield).
Occupation: Student (Studying towards a PhD in Astrophysics at UNSW).
Interests: PC gaming, astronomy, fantasy novels, 40k and other nerdy things.

So yeah, hope to see some of you in the future.

Oh, we'll have another one at some point... probably bad timing to join up and be looking for one 2 days after the previous one, though. :/

Where are you studying? I could search through various threads and find out, but this seemed easier.

I think there is a Med revue (comedy night) coming up this semester. That would probably be good. No?

I am at Macquarie University, the university of champions, and portal to an alternate dimension full of sculptures. I swear there is a new sculpture every week.

An alternate dimension of sculptures, eh? Better than UNSW where there seems to be a naked singularity eating major portions of the library. According to my sources they've now put a sizable portion of the books in storage in Melbourne and are doing god knows what on the other floors that were cleared out and moved to the fugly new Law building.

I think that's because I didn't know you were with the group. I missed where we picked you both up, so I was walking along all "Are these guys with us? Do they know they're walking in the middle of a group?" It wasn't until you both came up with us to the restaurant that I figured it out, and thus it was okay to photograph you. :P

It is ALWAYS okay to take photos of random strangers. Should they complain, just say it's in the name of science.

Looked at the photos!

That looked well fun!

I hope I can come to the next one, but the tricky thing is lying to/convincing my parents to let me do stuff with people from the interwebs.

Mine thought I was meeting up with my uni friends. Which is technically true as I see Meowgan at uni.

I don't know how restrictive your parents are, but could you just say you were meeting some friends? Worked for me.

We were out until about 10:00-10:30 But I got home at 11:30 due to shitty public transit.

I'm younger than I look.
