Oh yes! I will not be able to go on Thursday, I am very sorry. Brendan, I will be at Circular Quay but I can get back to Town Hall easily enough I should think.

I will just have to steal all Brendan hugs on Thursday.

If anyone wants to come, let me know for certain before next Tuesday.

Hermaj, I'm going to see Wolverine on Caturday. I'll miss you.

Hey guys. My friend who was having the picnic is in hospital at the moment, so I don't know if it's still going ahead or what's happening. So, uhhh, I guess don't change any existing plans on my account, and I'll keep you all posted.

Med Review people just came into my lecture and announced that. Nobody laughed. Not even a giggle...

... damn FBE and it's silly sense of humour.

On another note, I don't think I'll be able to make it to the hastily-organised meet this weekend, but if anyone wants a nice lunchy picnic on the 23rd, i'd be up for it. (It's my birthday so I'm having a party in Coogee in the arvo, it'd be nice to have something to do before it starts :))

All should come. Med Revue is pretty good. The theme is "Pirates of Cardiology: Dead Man's Chest". I know the directors and they're pretty hilarious people.

EDIT: Details are nise.
Thursday, May 7. That's Thursday week.
7pm

Yes you can. But unless you're an arc member it's cheaper to come with revue. Also, for every 20 people over 100 we book med revue will donate to cse a case of beer for camp. Plus, you get to sit with us.

As for today, my friend is stuck in hospital until she has her baby so there'll be no picnic. Ummm. Depending on how many people are interested I might come out to the city anyway. I'll do a text message swoop on people I do have and if you're interested in hanging out in the city tonight please PM me; if we get enough people then we'll hastily organise something.

Never mind; I have plans relating to another friend getting out of hospital and having a celebratory barbecue. (Hospital is Where It's At with my friends at the moment.) So, not arranging anything for tonight.

It was pretty funny.

I mean, it was only amateur theater, so I was not expecting top quality acting or anything, but a lot of the jokes were reasonably well written and the performance was good, so it was quite amusing. Megan will soon tell that it was nowhere near as good as CSE Revue from last year, but I didn't see that, and honestly, this one was alright.

It made absolutely no attempt to be Basically Decent with a lot of its jokes, either, which was different, and quite refreshing.

Cityrail are also pretty awful at trying to get people home at 1 in the morning.

Indeed they are; last year I repeatedly came home this late and it was all fine. But this year they appear to have cut some of the late night services. So I had to get a lift home from strathfield.
Good night though, but definitely not the best I've seen.

yeah... Megan had to get a lift home from Granville after waiting something like 20 minutes for a train they then decided to cancel.

On Friday night I was on a train back to Parra at the same time and got kicked off at Granville because they decided it would be a good idea to terminate it there. Had to wait over half an hour for another one.

i actually saw the CSE revue last year and i'll say that it wasn't bad, though a lot of the humor was very hit and miss.
and the crowd kept yelling shit. not even funny shit, they were just being stupid.

i totally missed the meetup, i should check this thread more often.
how big (in numbers) was the turnout?

Yeah, we're normally around the 10-person mark, sometimes 15. Cityrail is pretty crap; I had to cut my date on Saturday slightly short to ensure that we'd both still be able to get home if something changed with the trains. Trains are supposed to be reliable, yo! And they're definitely getting worse lately.

So they were downstairs in the hall? That sounds like standard hecklers then, except you probablt got a bad group. It happens sometimes. Normally the revue groups are upstairs.

You made costumes?! Damn, should have gone...

Anyway, for all those who are interested, my b'day party is on Saturday the 23rd. I'm turning 18 (and so are two other people) so there will be all necessary party stuff - circus freaks, fire, and alcohol. but no music :(

It's at coogee beach (more precisely, the northern end of the Goldstein Memorial Reserve), I'll be there from 3pm but it'll only get interesting around 6. It's themed 'crazy/kooky', so you need to wear... crazy things. Basically, the more you'd stand out in a crowd, the better.

It'd be nice to have a few xkcd peoples there (especially since TWO massive xkcd fans are turning 18 on that exact day), so feel free to come along.

late night buses are very, very good.
they almost always come on time and are, in my experience, more accurate than during the day.
yesterday my 376 came at 1:24 instead of 1:30 (PM), but on the way home my 377 came at 12:30, just off 12:31 (AM).
in terms of buses from coogee, 372s go to railway square while 373s go to circular quay via hyde park. their routes begin from a stop that's at the front of the park.
the problem however, is that once you get to a station, you're stuck with trains.

This was more than made up for by the guy in the giant rabbit costume and mikey (in his spiderman costume) getting into some wedding photos and getting free food from a bunch of different places around coogee. So, pretty fun.

As far as I know, these fora let you change it forever; none of my thread have yet stopped me (though I haven't yet broken a year), but even so, hermaj barely visits anymore.
Nonetheless though, its awesome, not only are we orgasmising, but we're doing it (forgive the pun) in the past!
