eh we got paul (ask alex who paul is) in to a bar, and he's 16 and looks 14. Only problem is that then he went to the bar to ask for a drink and got him and josh (maynard) kicked out lell.

just a note, restaurants in chinatown are renown (at least among my friends) for serving alcohol to anyone.
the hingara in particular has an excellent selection and i've personally tested it, freshly shaven at the age of 16.

I would prefer that the plan for the day didn't involve people getting kicked out of bars for being underage, but I'd also prefer it if we weren't sitting around in the open because its brass monkey weather at present.

I wasn't going to actively suggest going to a bar for the sake of inebriation, its just that going to a pub for lunch is one of the best things to do, I'm very partial to a steak with chips and a beer. And I don't think they have a big history of kicking out 17-year-olds who just want lunch :P.

*is failing*

I agree that it sounds like a plan though. Meet at *insert location here* at 12pm, roughly as usual?

Is anyone from south of sydney going to this? In which case we could organise travel together?

I am unsure of their ability to survive the trip. Instead, I shall bring balloons and you can laugh at my blowing-up-balloons face, and then marvel at my off-the-cuff reportoire of one.

I can get on an 8:30AM train and be at Central at a bit past 11AM. I mean, I can wander for a bit, but meeting people at Central would probably make things easier, or whatever other picked out train station/easily identifiable location.

I've just today been informed that apparently the electricity in my apartment will be cut off temporarily this Sunday from 9-3... they're redoing the wiring or somesuch (they've been digging up the streets all over recently, I assume it's related).

So it was good planning that I'll be out of town all day! I just need to re-think my alarm clock strategy, or I'll miss the train...

I'm happy to meet anywhere in the city at whatever time, as long as it is in the double digits (i.e. At or after 10). My weekend mind can't process anything before 10 AM

I feel as if I should attend this meet up, because it is on my birthday and would be a pretty rad present, but in order to get there on time, I would not be able to sleep in...

Oh, the dilemma.

I will... grace you all with my presence?... I'm too lazy to do study for chem, let alone bake something.
But yeah, I think a good *insert location here* would be central station. And probably somewhere that stands out, like the hungry jacks, because people like me who haven't been before kind of wont be recognisable... I don't do the whole shirts thing sorry, and thus far my photo has evaded the forums.

Hungry Jacks is inside Central Station and upstairs, across from the lowest-numbered platforms and part of a very small food court.
It's close to Eddy Avenue though, if you go upstairs you're practically right there.

anyone have any recommendations for places to eat, then?

The only pub in the city I've eaten at is the Lansdowne, which is up near central. Very cheap, relatively good for the price.

The Lansdowne is a nice place, though we'd want to meet at central if we were going to end up there.

I'd also put a vote in for the RSL on George, or maybe http://www.nswleagues.com.au/ ($10 steak and chips), or maybe the Rose on Cleveland for a slightly snooty feel. Of these I have only been to the Rose.

Edit: with more research under my belt, I now wholeheartedly support the Lansdowne concept.
