Where by 11th, 12th and 13th he means 13th, 14th and 15th.

My sources inform me that I am unable to do the 13th, incidentally. So one of the others.

Ok, 14th or 15th then. So, Tues or Wed. Wednesday is better for me but I'm still cool with tuesday.

I can only do Monday if it's in the afternoon - I have an appointment at my uni that finishes around 1pm. It's easy enough to get to the city from Macquarie, but my late arrival time is a setback. The other days are fine.

It doesn't seem to be explicitly stated (unless I've missed it), but is this in the day? Then, no from me, little thing called work.

Unfortunately I've managed to get booked up with work as well. Considering that no-one has really been confirming their ability to go, I'd be saying we should postpone till later... but if people do stick their hands up and say 'me me' in the next 24 hours then maybe it can happen (in which case I'd feel left out :( ).

In about 3 weeks time it seems I might have to be driving up to sydney anyway (on a saturday), I could possibly do something that day. I'd also have the car, and though driving in sydney is as much of a curse as it is a blessing, this might beable to help us a lot. So, if I can figure out which day that is, do people want to organise a meetup then? It's kind of selfish for me to expect that everyone else can fit into my own timetable, but unfortunately that's the only time I can see myself being able to show up in the nearish future, so if that suits everyone else then we can make a date of it :D

Don't worry about it... this thread basically just hangs around gathering dust until someone has an excuse (any excuse) to suggest a date, and then the interesting things start happening again.

That's the problem with "we really should to that sometime when we get the opportunity"... it never ends up happening. Add a potential date into the mix, and it actually has a chance.

Ok... Potential date = 1st of August (saturday).
I will be in the city from probably about 2pm onwards, till well later at night. I'll have a car, and I won't be drinking, though I don't much mind if others do. I'm ok with dropping a few people off home later at night depending on distance, though there's only 4 spots and that will limit us to 11pm max as I'm only on my red p's.

Honestly, seeing as this is going to be arvo/evening (for me), karaoke is sounding like a very good idea. Does anyone know where we can go and do this? Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well, but yeah. The date is 3 weeks from now, so hopefully people have enough time to not be booked out already.

So... who can come?

It's a weekend == I can come. And karaoke means I'll probably be there.

I'm in Hornsby and would love to meet some other xkcd people from Sydney, but I'm probs too young to do so.

(if there are any females aged 13-16 somewhat close to hornsby, pm me asap :))

I think the spread is 16ish to mid twenties. The peak is around about the 18-21 mark though.

Well...I'm a Newcastle person. We are NOT just a mini-Sydney up the coast. But, also, I'm 15. and have school, work, etc. Also parents. That's a biggie. I would have large difficulties going to Sydney, especially for the purposes of getting trashed and singing loudly, and off-key, no matter how much fun that sounds. Also, I get drunk off sleep-deprivation. How straight-edge is THAT?

Any chance the topic heading can be changed to Aug 1st? Might draw some interest.

And yeah, so far we have phlip, megan, and possibly ACU_LP and branson( ). Is there anyone else who wants to come? Karaoke is best with 8+

ACU-LP! As I finish at 6, I should be able to get there at around 8 (assuming city location).

Well, hopefully by bringing cars we can negate this problem megan? Seems like it'll be the only way we can actually go through with the whole thing.

By the way, if there's anyone who can come before the evening, I think I'll be hanging out in sydney for most of the day.

Have we decided on exactly where we want to go yet?

If it's somewhere I can relatively park near, I might drive too, and that would mean I could give Megan or anyone else heading west a lift back to Granville or Parramatta, and save some time.
