I am 17, not sure if I could get away with getting into a bar..Although I didn't get asked last night in Sydney xD Then again, all bars are different.

Where would you like to go?

There are a couple of minors in our usual group, and at least one who's never tasted anything alcoholic he'd class as "not crap"...

So yeah, pub is probably out.

Yeah, pubs out; we would all be fine and sensible, but the bar people would probably not trust us minors.

I am not paying 24$ public transport and $20 entry to go to Smash.

I like the picnic plan. Which is what we usually do. Or we could catch the ferry to Manly and have ice cream.

In regards to a bar, usually if it's daytime and minors aren't drinking, pubs are quite happy for them to be there. Just stay quiet and out of sight.

Cant we do both? Start at circular quay, then ferry to manly beach?

I do not know how expensive that will be... Or how long that will take.

The Manly ferry is $6.40 adult ($3.20 concession) and half an hour each way. (A return ticket is the same price as two single tickets, there's no discount.)

I have totally rejected this forum for too long...

... anyway I love the idea of a picnic at Manly, because I live five minutes away :) So I'd meet everyone else at the wharf, and then be merry.

Some idea of a time would be nice though? I'm fine with anything.

I think it's time to suggest a plan.

Meeting at 11am, as normal.
Ummm, we should meet at either Town Hall steps, Circular Quay or Wynyard station. Then go find a supermarket (There's one at Wynyard and one at Town Hall) and fetch supplies. Then chillax in the botanical gardens for lunchies. Then go where ever the wind takes us.

Yeah, I finish doing uni stuff at 11:30am, so I can do basically anything after that. I should probably be home at around 4-ish (or earlier) as I am meant to be cooking, so if it's possible, can we grab lunch?

The revised plan for Saturday is as follows:
We meet at 11 at Circular Quay (Get out of the train station and then walk towards the water, meet in front of that wharf). Then we acquire food and go to the gardens for om nom noms. Then we go on adventures.

If noone's argued with this plan by 6pm on Friday, it's the plan. Otherwise someone should decide on a better plan.

Roll call: Add your name, yo.

[edit] Oh crappy hell. I very well might could possibly have to work this weekend. By which I mean the project manager has said "everyone on this project Will be working weekends". With audible capital letters.

I may or may not be able to bludge my way out of it. Depends how much stuff I get done today...

I suppose I could put stuff on my netbook, work on the train...

[final edit]
Actually, it's looking incredibly unlikely at this point. I'll send Meowgan an SMS from the train if I do manage to get away, but I doubt it.

Sorry, Gojoe. Next time you come to Australia, pick a weekend where I'm not 1 week away from release of a project that's got about a month's work left in it...

[indecisive edit]
Bah, screw it, I'll come. My current rationalisation is that I'll probably get more work done on the train that I would working from home anyway. And I don't much care if that's true or not.
