## Attenuation

For the discussion of the sciences. Physics problems, chemistry equations, biology weirdness, it all goes here.

### Attenuation

So I'm ok using these formulae to come up with ideal values for attenuator components for T-pad attenuators Source

Given desired attenuation (K) and input (or output) impedance (Z), to find R1, R2 (R1 and R2 are equal) and (eventually - I'll skip this for brevity and for "figure it out yourself!"satisfaction) R3.

Is there enough information here, if I know the values of R1 (or R2) and Z, to be able to find out what K is?
Anything I said pre-2014 that you want to quote me on, just run it past me to check I still agree with myself.

### Re: Attenuation

$K=\frac{Z+R1}{Z-R1}$

Sweet. I might've got to that if I'd walked away and come back but I'd got my head well and truly mixed up. Cheers.
