Throw the phone out and never get another irritating text message.

I never understood hate towards cell phones. I can see how ringtones might annoy you, but I never take mine off silent and rarely use it for voice conversations anyway. So yeah, be irritated at rude people, but the phone itself is crazy useful.

For calling 911 maybe. I can't think of anything else it does that I wouldn't prefer to do another way.

I hate it because I am pretty much tied to my phone. Where I have to have it on me WAY too often. So to rebel I often let the battery run out and "forget" to charge it for like 3 days, and tell people to lose their cell as well.

I hate it when people interrupt me to answer their text messages. Same goes for people that feel the NEED to be online all the time ( I am looking at you Matt, if you are reading this ).

Really? How do people contact you when they don't know where you are? How do you contact them? Text messages themselves are great because they allow you to communicate while doing something else.

Except that doing something else while you are with people is actually rude. I mean, I do it too sometimes, but that does not make it less rude. You are telling the people you are with you don't like them enough to give them your undivided attention.
Unless you all want to ask this one person something, then it is very useful.
A: When do youthink D will get here?
B: I don't know he said he would be here by now. Text him.
C: Oh, D got a flat tire. He will be here in 15.

Good to know, but not something you could not live without.
I want to get to a place where I am neither conforming nor rebelling but simply being.

I use email or MSN for those things. If I absolutely have to call a phone, I use Skype. If they don't know where I am, I probably don't really want to talk to them. So I save $50 a month and never have to talk to anyone to whom I don't wish to talk (telemarketers, et al.). I do use Facebook, but I'm sort of a Facebook minimalist.

If people have a cell phone and are not attached to it 24x7 then that is all good. But it is the people that text like non stop no matter what they are doing that annoy me. Or the people that text me and do not get why it can take more than an hour for me to get the message and reply.

Eh. I'd argue these points but my life is not really impacted by other people's decisions, and I personally prefer to be as connected as possible. To each his own. Plus, I'm going to bed.

I used to be like you sir, but then I started working, and did not want to be connected to my boss 24x7. I like being able to say with honesty, nope I did not get your message to come in on my day off.

I haven't been here in a while...

Did something happen where a lot of people are using their real pictures for avatars?

I'm going apartment shopping tomorrow! :-D

I don't have a cell phone either. If somebody wants to talk to me, they can wait 'til I get a message and call 'em back. E-mails work great. Whatever happened to snail mail?

If you ask me, which you didn't but I'm yammering anyway...

The cellphone allows you to blow people off more easily. See, back in the day, when I wanted to do something with someone, I'd have to get in touch with them on a landline and.. make plans with them for the future, often days in advance. When time came around, as there wasn't a quick and easy (or at least damn near instant) way of getting in touch with someone, the person basically had to show up for said plans. If you didn't.. if you just blew the person off.. there's no fucking way that person was going to ask you to do something again - they 'd have spent a half-hour or more waiting on you and you not showing.

Nowadays, you don't really plan to meet someone days in advance, you call up people on your way to the meeting spot you maybe discussed and see if they're still coming or whatever and if they're not, no biggie as you're finding out now blah blah blah.

And, of course, there's the expectation of immediate availability. No more are people making plans a week or more in advance. Everything is last fucking minute now. I don't get a call saying "Hey, ST, it's Monday now and we were thinking of going to the movies as a group on Saturday. You in?" No! It's "Hey, ST, it's Saturday at 2:pm and the movie starts at 2:15. You in?" I mean, I'd have loved to have gone, had I had any idea it was going on. Instead, I have to say no, because I'm already involved in something else. Something I could have not done, or moved around, or whatever. I could have worked it in to my schedule had I had more than 15 goddamn minutes of notice. So, of course, since I can't just drop what I'm doing and go do whatever with barely any notice, people've stopped inviting me to shit because... and here's the shocker... I can't just drop what I'm doing and go do whatever.

Also, I tend to rant and rave about shit like this.

So, yeah.. fuck you and fuck your fucking cell phone. Learn to goddamn make plans, fucker.

Luna you'll get a bunny!!! You almost got one this time!! Promise!

I just need more babies. I don't have enough to keep up with everyone. I won't be breeding for any more litters until September as I don't want to have to deal with babies or does having babies while I'm away in England. Plus, it's usually too hot in July and August anyway for babies. I might breed right before I leave so end of September will be the next round. Be patient!
