You know what really grinds my gears for some reason? When people refer to getting their car audio fixed as "getting a system" or something. Maybe it's just the engineer in me but that doesn't describe anything.

Example-
My friend wanted to buy this exhaust system from a guy for $200. I asked her what that included. She didn't know. That could mean headers, muffler, just an exhaust tip?

Just a pet peeve.

They wouldn't tessellate very well; were you planning on doing a 'scale' effect?

Nah, was just going to do row after row of a row right-side-up, and a row right-side down. I'm pretty patient, but not patient enough to attempt to angle each one precisely enough to create a 'scale' effect...

Hiccups are annoying. Windows Explorer sucks. Maybe I'll rant about it if it gets too bad. Mostly what I don't like about it right now is the power icon not responding to my mouse hovering, so I can't tell how much power is left in the battery. Never mind, I've plugged the laptop in.

I think titles are specifically mod-granted. If they feel like it, and such. I think there used to be a thread where you could say what title you wanted, and you would (usually) get it.

What boring bore said. There used to be a thread but it was locked. These days it's just according to the moderators' whims. And believe me, there's nothing you can specifically do to get one. Don't bother asking about it or trying to impress anyone, it would just eliminate the chance of you getting one. They're not status symbols here anyway. They're mostly about what someone found funny at one point (and they're not always complimenting).

FT: What's the history behind the Mr. Green smiley? ( )

It seems the "very happy smiley" ( :D ) conveys the exact same emotion, and the Mr. Green smiley seems to just break the "all smileys are yellow" rule just for the sake of being different.

Wikipedia, I think describing the CRS-1:
Wikipedia wrote:While the device was in development, it was known by the code name of HFR, or Huge Fucking Router.[1] The marketing group later maintained this actually meant Huge Fast Router.[2]

But of course. :D

RT: Firefox 3.6 has given its underlines for perceived misspellings a horizontal stretch. Is that supposed to be less distracting, less intrusive than the last kind of underline? It's sort of amazing how far improving small things can be taken, and how little effect it usually has (as far as I can tell).

Also, has finger has been experiencing pain all day and yesterday.

I have always thought that the best conversation stopper is to just walk away because it leaves however is talking speechless.
I also like to just say "I'm sorry what?" after a long time of (not) listening to an other person...
