I thought we were 11 years or more beyond that discussion. ...

So did "Y2K" cause any computer issues?

Hehehe just remembered an English teacher I had in High School explaining to us what "Y2K" meant even though he didn't know that k stood for kilo... he was all like "Y stands for year. The two is self explanatory, and the K is like when you run a 5k race you run five thousand meters so the k stands for thousand." ... Wow. I'm surprised that I still remember that.

Still, in the mod forum we had a competition, set a coupla years ago as a laugh to see if this thread could ever reach 2000 pages, and we're now sending you a bottle of spirits of your choice (max price $199.99)

May I suggest the Glenfarclas 30 year, sir?

With the way soft-delete works, I think it could be contrived so that every poster in the thread saw themselves as having the nth post. It would require a lot of coordination, though, and would be easy for a defector and/or mod to mess up. I don't suggest we try.

I thought all the soft-deleted posts were hard-deleted, hence the forum troubles a few weeks (months? I can't keep track of time any more) ago.

As far as I can tell there's no way to mark a video as 'watched' without actually watching it, which is incredibly irritating.

To me: WHY A PURE WHITE BACKGROUND WITH A HUGE BLOCK OF BLACK? STOP BLINDING ME! I can read blogs or other sites like that because I'm constantly scrolling and loading between pages, so my eyes don't get overexposed. But when I watch a video, I might sit there for 30 minutes with all that damn white shining at me at top brightness the whole time. And I can't lower my full brightness down because a lot of people don't make videos for my gamma, and I can barely see a thing with low brightness (that's you, minecraft LPers on Windows).

I stumbled upon this while cleaning up my hard drive, it's fairly old now: http://i.imgur.com/BtqRh.jpg but it still grinds my gears. I must delete it so I can stop dwelling, but one last rant:

That damage has cost me thousands of dollars. I applied too little pressure to the brake while driving downtown and my vehicle nudged this other guys vehicle dead on, causing the damage you see. My vehicle was completely unharmed as you can imagine. I was, of course, immediately apologetic and offered to have his bumper completely refinished, which was actually better than just undoing what I had done, because - unrelated to the accident - it was already scratched on the corner. I gave him a referral and said I understand if he shops around but the guy I know is quite good. He got back to me some time later stating that my guy quoted $300, which was about what I expected and so I told him that I would give him $300 cash, not even requiring that he actually fix the bumper (where most people would say "I will go pay your bill" once it is complete - if he was OK driving around with scratches all over, why change now? Go buy an XBox or plenty of beer). He outright refused, asking for more than double the amount or he would go to his insurance. I wouldn't budget out of principle and so he did, which caused my premiums to increase. Incredibly frustrating, especially considering he would have had to pay his own deductible for the repairs, meaning he would rather be out money himself than receive a fair amount instead of extorting a larger sum from me. Sigh.

Yeah, overall I don't give a damn about the layout changes, but I don't like the homepage no longer listing just my subscription uploads. I liked having those in the main area with recommendations off to the side. Not a fan of having them mingled all together. And even then it doesn't list all of the most recent uploaded videos from my subscriptions. Those are the things I want the easiest access to and I no longer do.
