Took my new bike on a ride today. It was a lot easier to ride than my hybrid. I also saw a corgi along the way. Today was a good day. :)

That place is a joke. Nowhere to stand, really.

I suggest Titan. Or Io. Either one. I've got a summer home on Titan. Nice place.

I can't relate to guys with goatees or Riker-beards. It's like they're shells with no mind or soul. I have no idea what a goatee'd man thinks or feels about anything.

That's crossing into Unix beard. I can associate with Unix beards.

You need a trimmed beard, and it must have a goatee-like feature. I call the effect the Uncanny Riker valley, as it's most strongly illustrated with Riker.

No beard. Clearly, he has motives. But they're relatively down to earth. He's not going to surprise us.

But what the hell does bearded Riker want?

Just look at this shit! What is he feeling? He doesn't look happy. But he could be. He doesn't look angry. But he could be. This is what scares me. It's that damn beard.

I swear, all the moisture in my room just seems to disappear. Even with a larger than needed humidifier it still manages to get dry while it's not on. Makes it the best room to hang things up to dry, not so useful for waking up with dry eyes.

My mind gets more and more blown every time I think about what the future of machine learning will bring. Maybe google can teach a neural network to identify cats 74.8% of the time now, but won't be long before it's higher than human rate. I watched a talk about how 3 relatively amateur guys solved audio recaptcha through only moderately difficult techniques and a mass of neural networks; if you go check out the audio recaptcha now, it's almost completely unusable due to countermeasures.

Last week was probably the first week in years I actually consider to have pushed myself in regards to exercise. Would have done more yesterday but muscles were all like "...nope".

Well, ok maybe not higher than human rate, but comparable. Even most humans don't have the knowledge to distinguish between lesser known species.
Also, far more examples and processing power will be around in a few years. Given that this was just extremely small subsection of cat examples and processing power available to google, not even remotely close to 1% of information available, I don't think 74.8% is bad.
Sure it's impractical to process most of that information at the moment, but in 10 years... maybe.

Also, as natural language understanding improves, it will not only use images/video, but books and any literature to gain a more fuller understanding. Like the way humans do. At the moment, that isn't even done on a large scale.

But yaknow, pure frequency evolution is wheezing and slowing down. Now you need parallelizable problems which is not always easy with NNs. Then again, biocomputers or quantuum computers or whatever the fuck IBM is doing may change things. Keep a look out!

At 1 minute per post: about 8 weeks of non-stop reading.

1 minute per post? That sounds like too much.

Let's try to be scientific: I'll pick some random pages, measure how much time I take to read all posts, divide by the number of posts and then take an average.

Edit: I came to an average of 8.58 seconds/post. So, the total time would be about 8 days non-stop.
