I forgot to check if my old optical drive works with the fancy new Ivy Bridge compatible motherboard. D'oh!

On the bright side, I'm making good use of that shoprunner subscription with all the free 2 day shipping from Newegg.

There's something delightfully common about getting in from work, cracking open a cheap can of strong cider and relaxing.

Although this stuff does remind me of being 17.

There are some trance music stuff you can find on the interwebs that will help you fall asleep (allegedly). There are even noise generation sites for all your pink/brown/white noise needs.

Also, masturbating helps some people fall asleep. Sometimes the method of masturbation will help you fall asleep for-evah (autoerotic asphyxiation).

I've had good luck conditioning myself to fall asleep whenever a fan is on. Although that would sometimes backfire in the summer.

Also b_e's post reminded me of the joke about the guy who always masturbates in the shower, then whenever it rains he gets an erection.

But you probably don't want to do that last one (without a friend present, at least).

Also I use brown noise to get to sleep when I have my headphones available, and white noise when I don't. Both have done wonders for my sleep.

I can't imagine how that conversation would go down so smoothly...

"hey, you know you owe me a favour. Well, you mind giving me a hand later?"
"sure"
"Just need a bit of help getting to sleep."
"Eh? How would I do that?"
"Just choke me while I masturbate"

Sex works very well to put people to sleep.
Not all, some. Most!

Yes. I would get up and do things while The Beast slept.
I can bore a person to sleep, sometimes. Not that hard.

I listen to people. Well; I did. I liked it. They liked it. (shrug.)
People will often talk themselves to sleep. I have seen it.
Of course, some of it was The Drugs.
Yep. Give them ten o'clock meds and tuck them in.

Even in The Field talking helps.
Maybe it is needed in The Field more than in the Facility.

In The Field it is all we have sometimes; Holding hands and talking.

Conspiracy Theories? Is this the place for Conspiracy Theories?
I heard one. I have heard the same Conspiracy Theory from several different people over the course of Years.

The first time I heard it, I laughed. It was funny.
He said, "I suspect these people of conspiring to Make Me Happy."

One man was such a nice man. This complaint was his way of bragging.
He was so gentle and humble and funny.

I asked, "How are is this Conspiracy doing?"
He said, "Wonderfully."
Then; He broke my heart.
He said, "I want to give back to them. They have been so good to me."

Group Hug! Tears and Laughter. Not all Americans are Assholes.

On a scale of #10-#0 That is a problem #2. It can get to be a #3-#5. It's True!
Several times The Complainer was truly unhappy about all the effort put into making The Complainer happy.

Sometimes Human Beings of all genders and colors and shapes will do This Weird Thing.
It is called manipulation. It is Weird. It is difficult for a person to stand up to.
That is a problem #5 and could get worse.

No! Not masterbation. Manipulation. They are different things.

It is so personal. "What would please you?"
Such a simple question. So difficult for some people to answer.

Well? What do people tell you? When you ask; "What would please you?"
What do they answer?
First; Everyone wants a Million Dollars.
Imaginary Inflation has taken place within the common consciousness.
People may be asking for a Billion Dollars these days.

That is so very common. I am here to help. Right?
Well. I feel bad about it, but I don't have a Billion Dollars.
"What would please you: Something I Can do?"

Jeeze. It hurts my feeling to be thrown out, too.
"Nothing! Nothing You Can Do!"

Sometimes there is something I can do.
See? We need professionals back in our lives.

Not to Bully us; But, to Help.
Many hands make light work.

Are you sleepy, yet? Well; You should be.
I am boring.

Spoiler:
How do you solve problems?
Language. Everyone uses language to solve problems.
The Language of Love.
The Language of The Universe.
Cats don't talk much.

I have seen it with my own eyes.
I have been a willing participant.
I only have English.
I have a few little ditties in other languages.
Not much.

A group of Multi lingual people, Hanging out.
A problem shows its self.

The way we each approach a problem shows a great deal about our first or most comfortable languages.
Confession Time.
Japanese People are funny.
They solve in Japanese and then translate.
The translations are often funny.
Of course, they are! Translations are funny.

Who else is funny?
The people from Central America are not funny to me,
I am funny to them.

One man was so confused and amused by the way I solved one problem.
People. Social situations in Public.

Going for a walk. If there was another car in the park, I would go to another park.
So, sad and funny. "People? No. No, Thank you. Plenty of People back in The City."

Out on The Trail people became a good thing, again.
After five or six miles on foot beyond the trail head, usually;
The quality of people starts to go back up and People become a wonderful pleasure.

Stupid Story:

There is a trail named Obsian Falls.
It leaves the Trail Head and goes uphill through forest for five miles.
I was getting irritated. I hiked for The View.
I was getting the Ragan point of view. "Trees! I've seen them! They all look like trees!"

Of course, Megan was there. I told her, I was going Back. "fuck it, megan. This is not fun."
She made a deal with me. She had directions that said, "The View is worth it."

I agreed to one more hour. Maybe, two; But! Not More!

Soon after the trail got really hard. It was like climbing stairs.
I was in Good Shape. I stopped to catch my breath and asked, "What is this?"
Megan was all excited. She pointed out open sky.

We walked up to one of the most amazing Views.
It was a singular moment. We were walking up the side of an upside down River of Rock.
It was a Lava Flow. It was steep and it was deep.

When we got to the top. Dear Children;
The sky was sapphire blue.
The Three Sisters were White against the blue sky.

The view was out over miles and miles of Rock.
No pesky trees to mess up The View.
We were standing on a River of Rock that had frozen in place years and years ago.

There we stood. Just looking.
Some people were there.

They had chocolate chip cookies.
They gave us some.
People! No matter how good we are, we are willing to consider being better!

We sat up there. Truly in the middle of nowhere.
Megan and Those people talked about the effects of feeding The Gray Jays.

It was a lively conversation between people that Love this country.
It was a lively conversation between people that are smart.
It was a lively conversation between people that understand many of the same concepts.

The stupid Gray Jays are so bold.
Megan's best argument against feeding them is Habituation.
The Man from that group's best argument for feeding the Gray Jays was Habituation.
He won. He threw in the entertainment value and the companionship.

People like the company of other animals.
We have to bribe them with food.
They don't like us. They like food.

Megan fed the Jays from her hand. Yes. They are wild. Yes. They like cookies.
Yes. They will land on a woman's hand. I know it is true. I have seen it.
Their little feet are sharp. They have more heft than I thought they would.

I like birds. You?
I know; Some people are afraid of birds.
I am not afraid of Gray Jays.

Looking for a new house up north these last few weeks, my primary concern was proximity to services for my family. The last thing on my mind was how close I would be to a VFD/First Responder hall. The Boston thing has made me reconsider where I want to live now.

Fortunately (sort of), googling for "Prince George terrorism" returned nothing indicating that PGeo is a hotbed of much in particular.

I feel pretty guilty about pouring out the rest of this Jones soda because it's delicious, but I'm full and I really don't need another 15 - 20g of pure sugar.
