straight out of the bag is the most direct way to get those chips, but with cookies you get the added bonus of the cookie bits, so i think cookie is my favorite :)

So, watching the second season of Daredevil, and I find myself wondering - is Spiderman going to start showing up in the background (newspaper articles, etc) of these now?

I really liked the first season, and the second season has been ok (I think it's been more interesting for what it's setting up than for what actually happens).

It can be pretty graphic though. It takes place mostly in the dark which took some getting used to (though you can hear every single detail - it's a pretty neat touch).

Yeah, every so often I think to myself 'am I watching the screen from the wrong angle' and then remember that I'm watching Daredevil.

Jessica Jones is pretty great as well, though also very graphic, but more psychologically unnerving. At least you could see what was going on though.

I've really enjoyed it. I'm like five episodes into season two.
I think the pacing is better than most of the super hero shows, and it doesn't feel the need to follow a "new bad guy, almost lose, deus ex machina to win" formula that a lot of these shows seem to fall into.

Eta: Also, fight scenes are infinitely better than the ridiculous dancing in Arrow.

I've only watched a couple of episodes of the second season, but I've liked what I've seen so far. It's a pretty solid show overall.

I like how he spends most of the time more or less injured. He can't just brush that stuff off and be all good and restored by the next episode.
I edit my posts a lot and sometimes the words wrong order words appear in sentences get messed up.

That was an idea I had for L4D3 ... on ... August 4th, 2014, apparently:
I'm not sure how great an idea it is, but it's an idea.

There are 8 survivors. 4 of them are the type to which we've become accustomed, able to batter the infected to death five at a time and proficient with every gun on Earth. I haven't quite worked out how to enforce this properly, but ...

... you don't get to play those 4 unless you've got more than 4 players. 'You don't get to play those 4 at all' would be easy enough, of course, but bots suck, right?

You get to play the other 4.

One's blind. The screen is completely black, except for text messages, HUD, things actually in contact with the character and anything making a noise. Not really good at route-finding or sniping Hunters when they're running silently, the blind one is, however, *really* good at knowing where the Witch is.

One's deaf. That's it. Everything else is working fine. This one just can't hear ... voice chat, snarling Hunters, gurgling Boomers, coughing Smokers, the car alarm, the horde, the cries of a team-mate needing help, the beeping of a pipe-bomb that bounced off a tree and came very close, that sobbing sound, the warnings that there's a Witch nearby, the growling, the warnings that the Witch is getting angry, the scream .....

One's in a wheelchair. Fast on tarmac, slow on rough ground, and can either move or shoot but not both at once. Needs to be carried up steps by two others or lifting up ladders by two others with ropes. On the plus side, cannot be moved around by Jockeys.

One's 12. Fully functional. Not disabled at all, just 'less able,' due to being 12. Takes twice as long to get someone up off the floor, shoves zombies away half as hard, feels recoil twice as much and can't carry the wheelchair.

Yes, I know all about Valve's supposed trouble with the number 3. Call it "Left 4 Dead 2: West Coast" or something. Whatever!

I ran this idea past a blind person and she asked me what advantage the deaf person gets to balance the wheelchair user's stability and the blind person's passive sonar. I think the answer is "being able to aim," which means that to implement this the dev team would first have to take some blind people to a range, teach them to shoot and then set up steel plates with remote-activated buzzers on the back and see how well they can shoot at "the buzzing thing," including some in weird places that produce distortion, like in a drywall corridor with a door open on the near side. The group sizes produced could then be applied as a blur effect on every sound source's in-game appearance.

My FIL is cancer-free! Yay!

On an unrelated note - I have no idea how to check if laptop parts are compatible. Like I don't know what needs to be "equivalent" for a laptop hard drive so that a different one than what comes with the laptop can successfully be installed.

Specifically my friend's laptop's hard drive decided to die and I don't know how to tell if certain other ones work. This is the hard drive that is the recommended replacement: Hewlett-Packard (HP) 669299-001 - 500GB 5.4K RPM SATA 2.5" Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

If I wanted to look for other parts that are compatible do I just need to look for 5.4K RPM SATA 2.5" or are there other things that need to be considered? Do I even need to match SATA 2.5" or 5.4K RPM? This is making me realize that I know jack shit about actual hard ware.

It is that time of year, so have fun with this!

The inch measurement is the physical size. They come in that size, and a single inch larger for desktops. It should be clear that it needs to match.

The speed measurement - the 5.4k - is something that if you can get faster, do so. The overall gig size is up to you, but if I was...and having grown up in a time where a 20 meg hard drive was huge it pains me to say this, but... If I was going for something as small as 500GB, I'd go ahead and drop the size a bit and spring for an SSD (it'll be faster!) or get something in the TB range. Either or.

AFAIK the only things that matter for harddisk-like storage are the size and the connector type. For modern-day laptops that's 63½ mm (or the equivalent in inches) and SATA (which is the ubiquitous type).

Another reason to choose an SSD over a rotating disk is that you can throw the laptop around while it's on. The only thing you have to worry about is the structural integrity of the laptop as a whole, so don't just throw it on the ground (unless it's a very fluffy ground).

It's extremely frustrating when you're trying to get in contact with Verizon to diagnose poor reception and the calls keep dropping before anything can get figured out.

I think I got a sunburn today, as my neck is warm and I'm inside and it's night.

I got all the way to clicking "Preview" on a post here asking for help reading an email address ... and could read it in the preview. I still can't read it on the actual item or in the scan, but looking at the scaled-down scan I subconsciously fill in the details to make it legible.

I live in northern Scandinavia. What's this "sun" you talk of?
I edit my posts a lot and sometimes the words wrong order words appear in sentences get messed up.
