Personally, I use
( ) - Brackets
[ ] -Square brackets
< > - Pointy things
{ } - Curly brackets

Makes sense to me.

Also, is the signature a close-up of some bloody skin on a headcrab/headcrab zombie from Half-Life 2? It looks like it's made in either the Source or Unreal engine.

I will, from now on, if nobody protests, use the the words "bracket" for the "(" and the ")"-s.

@ thecommabandit: I have exactly the same, only then with EVERY horror movie I watch, only to find out I don't have guns nor a crowbar :(

I think maybe it refers to pertrubation theory in Quantum Mechanics, could that be it? A Hamiltonian H0 which represents the pure phenomenon with equal eigen values and then a pertrubation Hamiltonian H1 with three different eigen values?

Edit: I think maybe the prof. should have added a μ1 ≠μ3 to be completely rigorous. :-P

It would be interesting to plot the displayed 'time of most users ever online' against the current time. I conjecture that the graph would look something like:

That is fortunate... because if I've made a 'your mom' joke, I'm usually out of ideas.

On apples: yes, they are cool - but I don't eat enough of them.

On fora-times: I find it quietest at about noon and midnight GMT, at least for posters - there are always huge numbers of guests on.

So apparently I'm a horrible person.

I was browsing news.bbc.co.uk almost at random when I came across this article.

After reading the third non-bolded paragraph my brain came to a screaching halt and protested, "He only killed 4 people! Thats not a killing spree at all!"
