FT: 1920 x 1200 is probably high enough for a laptop screen resolution. Beyond that it's getting silly.

depends on the screen size... those silly 17" and bigger laptops could probably take a little more, but my 14" one is fine at 1440 * 900.

Which would win in a fight? A borg cube or the death star? It is my opinion that the death star would win without any real contest.

Except for the fact that a borg cube would just either fix itself, become immune, contact the rest of the borg collective fleet, assimilate all, etc.
The death star might cause some severe damage, but it is ultimately screwed. Very screwed. The borg are like the replicators and the flood, exceptionally hard to actually wipe out, even with planetary weapons.

Am I correct in saying that Death star 1 had a shield, that being the reason for the rebels attack on the exhaust pipe? If that is the case am I also correct that you can't beam aboard a ship while its shields remain?

The death star was ray shielded so they needed to use proton torpedoes - the exhaust port was the only way they could get a direct shot at the reactor, anything else would just be minimal surface damage.

AFAIK, Star Wars doesn't have 'beaming'. This is the case in Star Trek, however.

The death star holds an entire fleet of fighters, a simultaneous attack could destroy the borg cube before it had a chance to adapt. Even if the that didn't work they have millions of turrets lined on the shell of the space station.

EDIT: even if they were to attack the inside of the death star you have to take into account its massive size. It would take days for them to fight through the droves of storm troopers.

Really? Do we even need to ask? Everyone know that The T.A.R.D.I.S. would beat both of them.

Fanboyness aside, it's a moot point. You can't really compare the two, with internal universe technology being so WILDLY different in each 'verse. In a ground engagement, of an Away Team (Worf, Riker, Kirk, Sisko, ect.) V. the Star Wars cast (The originals ONLY), River would kick both their asses and that's that.

They are talking about a game, that everyone is playing. You are winning until you realize you are playing. When you remember that you are playing, you must say something along the lines of "Damn it I lost", thus making people around you lose as well (or make you explain it to them, thus making them lose).

You do not start winning again, until you put it out of mind.

Now you know, you can never un-know it.

The only way to truly win is to forget about it so entirely, that someone has to reexplain it to you, at which point you're playing again.
