You should do some research into past science fairs, and see if there's a correlation between field and final grade. And then use the results as your science fair topic. That'd sorta be sociology, right?

ARRGH!!!

So... why does the WHOLE school care about my sex life? I hooked up with my now-girlfriend last friday night, and pretty much all of our dance line and drum line knew (because we are sneaky like that....) so after I dropper her off at her house and went to our percussion sleepover (which consisted of a scavenger hunt to end about 50% of scavenger hunts) I started getting text messages. Not just any, but from EVERY person at her sleep over. ALL of them were asking the same thing... about what we did.

After the weekend, its still the hot topic at school. Why do they care what I do in my personal life, but my friend gets laid, texts EVERYONE and nobody really cares (a few cools replied and that's about it)

WTF!!!!!

Sorry to hear that, I think, but uh, this should probably be in the rant thread. Also, why are you upset that people care about your life? And as you are, I wouldn't worry, it will blow over shortly.

There is exactly one (1) moment in time in which it is perfectly acceptable to call anyone, especially strangers, "Sexy Mama"

And that is when preceeded by "Hey there" and proceeding "Wanna destroy all humans?"

I'd also like to nominate:

"Hey sexy mama, you smell pretty. Wanna smell me?"

as another perfectly acceptable moment to use that term.

Can one bad year really cause a 40% decrease in value? That is mucho coin dude! Tough business! My balls shrink just thinking about it. I worked at a bank when they were being taken over/merging, no fun at all. I was worried about my job every day for about a year as I scurried around trying to find something else. I also didn't use the words mucho, coin, or dude. My thoughts go out to anyone who is in that situation. I remember upper middle management coming in and saying how they were on the "slipperiest rock in the pond". Right, they had fat sacks of cash and parachutes. Hopefully its a complimentary company with little overlap that shares your views.

Just when you think campus Internet policy can't get any worse, it does. We now have a 5 GB weekly bandwidth quota. And this is on top of the policy key that forces students to set their machines to download and install every Windows update automatically.

Things are going to get very interesting very quickly. And by 'interesting', I mean Wash's definition.

Wait, a 5 GB weekly allowance, or a weekly quota?

Because I like my interpretation better

"Cindy, we notice you only pulled 4.5 gb last week..."
"I know, I'm sorry, I had a test and..."
"Look, we both know that's no excuse. Every student should be seeding at least three different torrents at once. Even if you've already hit a 1.0 ratio, just go ahead and be a nice person and leave it running. And really, if that's not enough, go ahead and download more. You can queue that stuff, you know."
"I know. You're right. I'm sorry. I'll do better this week"
"You'd better, or we'll make you retake Piracy 99. Again."

*snrrrrk*

The little notice said "quota", but I suppose "allowance" was the word they were actually looking for.

Then they're fine. The Mac and Linux folks don't have to do anything special aside from having a campus-approved antivirus and firewall like everybody else. It's just the unfortunate Windows-users (such as myself, but that's what I get for being a gamer) who see the worst sides of campus policy.

That's kinda silly. Is there even antivirus software for Linux? (that actually scans the -system- for viruses, as opposed to scanning emails the system is serving)
