Hunza pie: spinach, cheese & brown rice.
(I was polite to G, but I was ignored... Oh well).

For me, the default type of pie is savoury and it still kinda surprises me that for Americans it appears to be some sort of sweet pie. Maybe we could have a survey thread in General.

What type of Pie do you like best?

Also pumpkin pie is the only reason to get excited for Thanksgiving.

Sugar pie is also awesome.

When I saw "PIE" I thought "what's that? Proportional Integral ... Exponential?" Then I read the rest.

Which one I like the most? Possibly banana pies. I also like quiche.

Pot or some vaguely fruit one, like a strawberry rhubarb or something.

For savoury, a good steak and mushroom. For sweet, either lemon meringue or apple and rhubarb.

I like fruit and berry pies, but with half (or less) of the sugar that is usually called for, so I can taste the fruit.

Too much sugar in desserts these days. I know why (it's cheap and gets people to crave more) but it makes many desserts not very tasty.

Well, it depends. When I see it in lowercase, or appropriately capitalized for the beginning of a sentence, I think directly of the meaning of the word, and that conjurer up fruit/berry pies. But when I see it in ALL CAPS, then I think of the word itself, as "somebody's making a point of this word" and initially think of what kind of point might be made. Pi (c/d) was the first thought upon seeing the thread for the first time.

When I see PIE, I think Proto Indo-European. When I see pie, I think of a sweet pastry filled with fruit, pumpkin, or pecans.

"Pie" (lower- or upper-case) makes me think of fruit pie. Thing is, I like custard-style pies better, but I've always had this notion that that made me a baby because grownups like fruit pies and babies like custard-style pies.

I had some odd ideas as a kid. Every once in a while, I get reminded of them. (Coats are warm, so putting a coat on a cold rock will warm up the rock. Babies like roses, grownups like chrysanthemums. Proper grownup talk is boring, so the way to impress people is to always say the most boring, stereotyped thing possible. And so forth.)
A man who is 'ill-adjusted' to the world is always on the verge of finding himself. One who is adjusted to the world never finds himself, but gets to be a cabinet minister.

This is why I went for proto-indo-european. In lowercase I'd probably think of some sort of hot savoury pie. Not that I'm a massive fan of that sort of pie. I like pork pie, but that's cold. And I like treacle tarts (which are basically pecan pie without the pecans and so infinitely better).

We eat ours hot. Well, we do eat them cold too, but I prefer them hot. My wife and her mother bake up a ton of them just after Halloween then freeze them. Then we take them out of the freezer when we want them (usually Sunday morning) and cook them in the oven for about 20 minutes to warm them back up. If we have any leftover we eat it cold for lunch or breakfast the next morning.

First, What do you think of when you see the word PIE?

Feet.

I don't actually like pie much. Lots of pies are just too sweet for me, and I can't deal with multiple different textures in a pastry-thing.
Significantly less weird than I used to be. Still pretty weird.
