High: I think I finally figured out how to turn the god damned low battery alarm off on my work cell. The stupid thing won't hold a charge, so every night if I don't plug it in it will die at about 4 Am. While dying it will make a very loud, very annoying beepo every 5 minutes or so. It is long enough for you to say 'fuck, I don't want to get up', but also short enough that you can't sleep. It seemed to happen every freaking time I was hungover or just wanted to sleep in. I can't count the number of times the stupid thing has ruined a good nap. IN short: Fuck you work phone.

High point: spending the morning chasing a mate around on a motorbike. Cruising with friends on bikes is awesome :D

Low point: trying to demonstrate to dad how easy my new nitro RC car is to start, on for it to take half an hour, and then to have it keep stalling. Phail.

High point: Hung out with family, hung out with friend, hung out with family and family's friend.

Low point: Couldn't get my Phonon application to run on Windows and its god-damned closed-source sound system.

High Point - Started running to get into shape. Been so long since I did some full on-exercise, I forgot about how satisfying it is to relax after the work.

Low Point - My mobile phone provider lied to me, so I lost all of my credit talking to one of my good friends who is in England at the moment.
I had a trilby, but I got fedora up with it.

It had been pouring with rain all day today, and after work I got out my car and this Border Collie comes running up to me, jumping on me, ruining my pants with rain and grass and mud, and wouldn't go away. It was pushing through my legs when I was trying to walk, jumping all over me and giving my hand playful nips. It didn't seem to be from anywhere, and it didn't have a collar, so I wasn't sure what to do.

My brother came out and we dried it off as much as we could, but the damn creature could not stay still for half a second to save itself, and it wouldn't leave us either. Against my judgement, my brother fed it a little: it's a beautiful animal, and there's no way someone abandoned it. Here's a picture (blurry, because it couldn't stay still):
Image
We got the council out to collect her, and we'll ring tomorrow to make sure she's okay. More pictures, spoilered (incidentelly, I took them...that's my brother in them):
Spoiler:
ImageImage

She's the best-natured dog I've ever had the pleasure of meeting: if she was abandoned, she'd get taken in in a snap. If we didn't already have two dogs, we might have quietly stolen her. On a related note, my friend brought around his Beagle puppy today. He only widdled the carpet once. Pics:

^ Aww, Border Collies are such beautiful animals, I just wish they wouldn't be so full of energy all the time, I might consider getting one. On a related note, my friend got her new puppy today, it's a brown Dobermann boy and looks adorable in photos at least. She told me her old dog (German Shepherd) didn't really fancy the new arrival, but he'll get use to him, I'm sure. We've been thinking up names for him all day, finally deciding on Rommi (which is Finnish for rum). Runners up were Dexter (or shortened to Dexi) and Iro.

High point: Got bucket loads of money! Bummer it's only a loan and it should last me the rest of the year... Obviously I had to go shopping and bought some chocolate coverd almonds and hazel nuts and some very yummy mint tea.

Low point: Wasp flew into my room this morning and I had to battle to get it thrown out again. After that I didn't dare to keep my window open which led to my room being quite hot. It's been at 30 degrees (Celsius) all day and only now starting to go down (25 at the moment).

High: Playing Zeno Clash.
Low: Getting in a car accident. It was just a fender-bender, but it was my first accident and shook me up pretty bad.
High: Parents weren't mad at me about the car, and the person whose car I had a bumper-fight with was very nice and understanding.
Low: It's going to need body work (bumper and hood side panel replacement, and the cover over the driver-left headlight). Which means it's going to get REALLY expensive. Lame shit.

Yeah, I had this same thing a year ago. Managed to crumple up the front frame pretty good, and the hood wouldn't latch closed. Gotta get back on the horse, though.

Anyways, high: Having a wicked awesome dream that I won an olympic gold medal in speedskating, and other assorted awesomeness.

Low: Waking up and realizing it was a dream.

High: I completed a lot of troublesome workorders today...don't know how or why, but everything was working the way it should have been. Also, my new laptop shipped today, wasn't supposed to ship before the 7th...

Low: I have my Econ final in 6 hours, and I still need to do a lot of studying.

Yeah, I went and drove again today. Aside from being more skittish than normal, I think I'm doing okay.

And that sounds like the best dream! (I'm sorry you didn't do it in real life while you were asleep, though. :P )

Won't be open 'til Saturday.

On the other hand, I won the book "Angels & Demons" in class for solving a puzzle.

You seem to be using this as the high point of your day. Sure, winning a book is cool. However, winning Angles & Demons is much less cool. I seriously hate that book.

Low: A power failure knocked out my computer earlier, and now my Yahoo account won't connect. I suspect something broke. D:

Low: Fucking exhausted, cloudy weather makes me lethargic, my bff has not been answering my texts or calls for about a week, I was almost nodding off in today's class, simply thinking about my best-friend-on-hiatus is making me miserable, I'm not as good at Japanese as I want to be, it's too cold with the A/C on and too warm with it off, I ate a semi-healthy burrito and some yoghurt for lunch but still feel guilty about it since it was Cafeteria Food and thus is secretly plotting to kill me by creeping stealthily into my arteries when I am not actively wearing my tinfoil hat, I don't actually own a tinfoil hat, my laptop died and took my not-backed-up-files with it including a copy of some fanfiction which will now be nigh-impossible to find on the webtranets, my iPod needs to be charged but I'm still listening to it because without music I'll just sit around on the internet not knowing how much time has passed, I'm crazy enough to have a capacity to function that is abnormal and infrequent but not crazy enough to get married to Sephiroth (and/or Cloud/Vincent/Naruto/Sauce-kay/Gaara/Roxas/Axel/Draco Malfoy) on the Astral Plane like all the truly spectacular crazies do, I can understand 50% of Tamaki's theme song but not the parts that make sense, and I'm running low on Monster Energy.

High: Cute blond psych intern! I completed his surveyand probably skewed the results.

Low: I could not strike up a conversation with said cute blond, as he was busy and I was in between just having eaten a burrito and brushing my teeth, making my breath only slightly more fragrant than horse leavings. (Yes, I carry a toothbrush and toothpaste on me at all times; I may be justifiably paranoid about cavities, but at least I'm hygienically correct. Oral hygiene is important, you guys. Look after your teeth and they'll look after you.)

High: People find me amusing and harmless, rather than frightening and dangerous! Well done, self. Carry on.
