Low: I was supposed to hang out and watch movies with my friend today, and she was supposed to call. As soon as I started to worry that she'd forgotten, I tried to send a text-message, which failed several times. So then I tried calling, which failed. So I tried sending a message to myself, which also failed. From this, I'm guessing we're having network problems, thus ruining all previously made Halloween plans.

High: So instead, I walked down to the theatre for a ghost tour/haunted house. I didn't see the ghost, but everything else sure scared my pants off.

Low: Take-home exam was putting my balls in a vice. It's one of those I'mnotreallyinterestedinthesubjectbutmycourserequiresmetotakeit sort of arrangements.

High: Taking a break and getting a lemon tart with the girlfriend.

Lower: Lost my train of thought completely. The exam has beaten me.

Low: Slept through much of Halloween, had some kind of small freakout and couldn't go to the cafeteria, and the vending machine wouldn't sell me the right flavor of chips.

High: I think I'm going to start on the reading for History class, so I'm not doing it right before the test.

High: Went to TGI Friday's with Lolsaur. It's kind of become a thing where we get shared nachos and I take all the jalapeños off my half and put them on his half and then I always have quesadillas and last year it got to the stage where the staff recognised us when we went in and put us at the same table as much as they were able to (we were kind of surprised they hadn't started given us our nachos with half the jalapeños). It's pretty awesome.

Low: I had to say goodbye to Lolsaur at the train station not even knowing if he was going to have transport the whole way home because the lines are flooded.

High: So I found out why my mom took my car, and I'm glad it's what I thought it was and not any of the 10 worse things it could have been.

Low: Oh yea, still don't have a car, and there was a line forming to ask me about my Friday night. My friend said she only got dirty looks. Lucky (but she also had a 2 period class with my ex)......

Low: Phone still not working.

Lower: Shins hurt from all the walking I did on Saturday. I suspect I'm going to make the problem worse tomorrow since I have to walk all the way across campus (fifteen minutes) to get to my econ class. (The weather's going to be nasty, and I can't cycle in a down parka.)

Much lower: Cramps.

Even lower than 'much': Physics exam (yet another one - we seem to have these things every two weeks) tomorrow over the stuff for which I kept nearly falling asleep during the lectures.

High: ...cake batter frozen yogurt in the cafeteria?

For yesterday

high point: meeting Eve Ensler and Sandi Toksvig and giving a speech at the Justice for Congo - 100 Years On event at the Royal Albert Hall and everyone really liking my speech

low point: having my bag stolen with my wallet, passport and house keys inside. If Felstaff hadn't have decided to unleash his inner spiderman, I'd still be unable to get inside my own apartment.

The high point of my day involved reading stories,
Which, if I had been eleven, might have been gory,
But I still derive some childish delight,
From reading vampire novels aimed at kids at night,
(NO NOT TWILIGHT, something older and different)
And kick back, turn on spotify, and listen to ensiferum.

My low point has been losing a contest,
Which I knew we'd lose if I'm brutally honest,
Yet it still really sucked when I saw we'd failed,
Especially considering what our entry entailed,
I'll forgo the details, and simply leave it at this:
It's sad when you swing with all your might and still miss.

High: Found a copy of Repo! The Genetic Opera for ten bucks at a Hastings. Now I don't have to rely on the whims of my roommate.

Also high: No more Tobramycin eyedrops. (Now, let's just hope there's no more pink eye...)

Low: Realizing that since my roommate is still absent, I'm the one who will have to clean out the refrigerator before Thanksgiving break, and handle the perishable (most of it already perished, I'd imagine) items she left in it. I'm... kinda scared of what might be growing in there, thanks to my mold allergies and the "Toys in the Attic" episode of Cowboy Bebop.

Low: I had a panic attack in the middle of an exam, ran out to the bathrooms (leaving my bag in the room), started shaking and crying and decided obviously the best thing to do would be to just run away and go home. 50mins later I'm sitting outside my house, with no phone or keys in the cold and had to wait and hour and a half for my mum to get home.

High: My boyfriend came over to cheer me up :)

Low: It's cold, but I have to spend time outside, working with metal (good at transferring warmth away from my fingers!). I was hoping to deal with non-functional overdrive, but my car refused to stay running in the cold, postponing that, and giving me pretty much a new [to me] non-functioning car, when I have no money. Yay.

High: the rough idle, and stalling as it went from drive to idle, cost no money to fix (but requires me to work on it in the freezing cold), being no more than the throttle switch out of adjustment (it wasn't closing into the idle position); which is especially nice after finding I have an oddball version of my car, for which almost everything is harder to find and more costly, along with me having fewer compatible parts than I thought I would (Regina injection, where my others are Bosch).

P.S. Next-day high: I would swear up and down that my wrecked 940 was all Bosch LH. It's Regina, which brings my new one up from good deal to a steal (if a few sensors go bad, the new car will have paid for itself :)).

Low: Plans for tonight are falling apart as everyone's scared of a little snow. Plans for Avatar in 3D tomorrow are also dicey, seeing as how I've reserved tickets long ahead for good seats and now someone else wants in and that would mean we'd get awful seats. Normally I wouldn't fuss about it, but I'm talking 5 meters from the screen. And my sister said she could provide us with good seats, since she work there, but she forgot. So whatever I do, people will be pissed.

High: Work today was demolition. And by demolition I mean tearing down walls using a crowbar, a sledgehammer and a forklift. That was good fun. :D
