Wow, a really awesome thread. Never done anything like this before, except for when I waited for the buss and I started to plainly stare straight up in the sky, no one stopped to look up though :(

I was doing it to a) test, and b) fuck with peoples heads :P

But I was doing it for consistency, and to check that the bug was that, and not something else. Thanks for the confirmage.

Yeah, that doesn't actually work. The idea is based on an assumption that the average person pays more attention to anything than they actually do.

If you want do easy and simple weird things then distributing art is a good place to start (see the mystery postcards that I linked to earlier) or random acts of human kindness.

A friend and I once helped make the world a weirder place by discovering a strange law of linguistics. We realised that the addition of the word dragon/dragons to pretty much any sentance makes it over 100% awesomer.

Take this for example:

Normal phrase: "I would like to have beans on toast for lunch."

Awesomer phrase: "I would like to have dragons on toast for lunch."

Clearly you can see the improvement.

Yes I know it's extremely strange.

Fractal_Tangent wrote:Where did Pirate.Bondage come from? Other than being a suitable combination...

My old best friend and I used to love pirates. One time we went into a toy store and saw a box that we thought said "Pirate Bondage" and we thought it was hilarious. I said "that will be my name on everything from now on!"....turned out it said Pirate Bandage.

So there's no creepy story behind my name, sorry. :P

I was curious so I just had to google for pirate romance novels...

Pirates of Desire
Spoiler:
Our heroine is a lady of the Court with a passion for the open seas and all things ‘pirate’. She's also strong willed with a penchant for finding trouble. The trouble begins when she convinces her best friend to take a forbidden trip on a merchant ship.

The ship is captured by our hero, a pirate, scoundrel and handsome rogue, aptly nicknamed 'Sea Wolf ' for his cunning and spectacular sea raids.

Feared far and wide and with a price on his head, he allows our heroine and her friend to escape his deathly grip only to be surprised when our leading lady returns, masquerading as a male crew member.

She becomes his willing prisoner of passion – or is it the lure of the seas that holds her heart captive? Pirates of Desire is a swashbuckling adventure full of love, passion and humor!

Not really up to scratch compared to the rest of this thread, but I am known for walking down the road dressed as a pirate or a spy as often as I can. I might start doing some of these, however...

EDIT: Oh wait, I also write with a giant fake quill in school. Although that's only as of the last two days.

I wear a giant fake mustache to school at random, and occasionally hammerslide down empty hallways. For a gym project, I persuaded my group to learn and perform the song "Moskau" by Dschinghis Khan, which you can find on the Youtubes.

In my U.S. History class:

Teacher: *talking about Great Depression* Wait, I just lost my train of thought. *looks at me*
Me: *serious expression* Waffles.
Teacher: *also serious expression* Syrup.
Me: Butter.
Teacher: *looks startled* What?
Me: Butter. Like, a little pat of butter you put on top.
Teacher: Oh. Bananas.
Me: Orang-
Teacher: *look of consternation, gets up and brings hands to face in dismay* What am I doing?? Ladies and gentlemen, luckily I don't have to stay after school to film [weekly student-run news show] this week, I shall be going straight to my doctor after school.

The funny part about this is that one of this teacher's catchphrases is "Seek professional help", which I recall him first telling me when I did a cover of an MC Hammer song as Abraham Lincoln (lyrics available on request), but I somehow managed to turn that phrase on him without meaning to.
Can I get a "Fuck yeah, bismuth!"? (bismuth picture in spoiler)

Heh, after noticing that our break room has a hole in one of the ceiling tiles, I actually printed off a papercraft model of ceiling cat's face and stuck it up there. Apparently it scared one of my coworkers when he first noticed it. :P

"edit", which will turn into "OOPS" if not surrounded by quotes: What's up with the random word replacements, btw? I can't have the character pronounced as "see" as a stand alone character, or it gets turned into BASIC. This is fun and hilarious and whatnot, but it fucks up urls.
