What do you wear when you sleep?

Postby Zohar » Sun Nov 04, 2007 6:12 pm UTC

Personally, I sleep in the nude (for the past ten years or something, at least). Why would people encumber themselves with extra clothing? The only occasions I don't do so are when I sleep around other people (hostel etc.). I sleep that way both in summer and winter (granted, winter doesn't get too cold around here).

For those of you wearing underwear, is it always boxers or do you sometimes go with briefs? What about the girls?

Do women sleep with bras?

It depends. Usually PJs, or something resembling PJs (oversized t-shirt and sweatpants, tank top and cotton shorts, that kind of thing), but sometimes that seems like too much effort and I just go for underwear (no bra, I imagine that would be rather uncomfortable), or sometimes underwear and a tank top/something similar. My bathrobe's always somewhere around my bed, so I pull that on before going downstairs when I'm not wearing something I'd be willing to leave the house in. :P

Bras are cumbersome and unnecessary for sleep.

I generally sleep in pyjamas or the like. The less clothes the better, but my family doesn't respect privacy so the least amount of clothing I wear at night will be shorts and a tank top. In the winter, I will wear pyjama pants and a hoodie, though, because my arms are always cold. :)

I just wear panties and a tank top.

I agree with the fact that bras are too uncomfortable to wear to bed.

I figured you wouldn't wear bras to bed. Also, I guess the fact that people wouldn't enter my room without getting permission and the fact I have a bathrobe help in choosing to sleep naked.

I've heard this before, but this reiterates the fact that my sleeping with a bra on is very, very unusual. I don't sleep in underwires or anything, but a soft cotton bra? Yeah. I don't know what it is, but I'm very uncomfortable without one.

Other than that, pajamas. Cotton pants/shirt, usually, but I've also got both silk nightgowns for summer and flannel nightgowns for winter.

My mother does sometimes have to come into my room in the morning if I oversleep, but I'm always all curled up in my blanket, so it really doesn't matter what I am (or am not) wearing. Like I said, my robe's always around to pull on before I go out of my room. :P

I picked underwear and a shirt, but that's actually only because it's sort of between what I really sleep in, depending on the season. (In fact I almost never sleep in boxers and a shirt.)

When it's hot out, I usually sleep in just boxers or, when I was in my own apartment and it was *really* hot, nude. When it's cold out, I'm more likely to sleep in a shirt, boxers, and pajama pants. (Though before buying the pajama pants, for a pajama-themed party a friend of mine had a few years back, I guess I did sleep in boxers and a t-shirt when it was cool enough to want the shirt.)
Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

I tend to sleep in pajamas, or pajama shorts and the shirt I wore last night. No bra. It's about the only time when it's more comfy to go without one. When it was hot and I had my own place I would sleep in underpants and a tank top.

I am very wierd in that I sleep with an underwire bra. They don't make non-underwire in my size very much and I find it uncomfortable without one.

On top of that I wear PJ pants and a cami. If its cold I wear my long sleeved PJ shirt.

If I'm in bed just underwear. If not I will probably be fully clothed (including shoes). It's not on purpose, though.

I don't have actual PJs, but I usually sleep in a t-shirt, and these really comfortable sweatpants. Though I'm not sure if they still count as sweatpants without elastic cuffs at the ankles.

I hate wearing clothes to sleep. When you toss and turn they get all bunchy. I have a hard enough time getting to sleep without bunchings. I sleep under blankets like a normal person, so I don't have to worry about people intruding.

Nude all year round, except for when I sleep on the couch, thats when I wear boxers (for companies sake, people). Only once have I actually slept in pants, and that was after I came back from a concert to tired to care.

Totally naked, always. Unless I'm sleeping with someone else. Even then, I'll see if I can get away with it. I completely agree with whoever brought up bunching. Try to change position at all, and everything gets all twisted around and uncomfortable . . . Just no. Naked ftw!

I voted nude, as that's that I prefer, but it's so freaking cold in my room in the winter (and spring, and fall...) that I have only done so during the summer.
you may remember me from 2008 or 2009. I left for a while. I'm now sporadically back. I tumble here.

I sleep in my boxers, and maybe a shirt. Its too uncomfortable to wear a shirt most of the time.

Underwear, I'm very rarely too cold. I've had the radiator permanently off in all the rooms I've stayed in, in the last 4 years.
My window is open alot of the time. I guess I'm good at producing heat...? :|

I while back I woke up with a mild hangover (Which usually makes me hotter, I assume body working to process stuff) and the radiator thats about 40cm from me, parallel to my sleeping position, was on full blast. Let me tell you, I wasn't a happy chappy. Must be in my top 5 most annoying things. I would rather sleep outside in winter.

Although around other peoples houses, I usually end up sleeping fully clothed due to the late nights and what normally gets consumed or used eariler.

I voted otter/duck, as I pick that regardless of my actual response in a poll.

I do sleep naked, however. And I must say, it's mighty sexy.

Nothing. Except if company is staying. Then I wear shorts/boxers to bed. I usually only cover myself with one blanket in the winter and a sheet in the summer.

I sleep in underwear and I wear a ring that a girl gave to me. If I'm sharing a room with someone (school trips etc.) I'll wear pants/shorts as well.

PJs... shirt, underwear, and depending on the season, pj shorts or pants.

Sharing a room with my younger brother, and living with family, has a big impact on that.

Briefs. Sometimes when it's particularly cold, lounge pants. I think they are sort of the same as pajama bottoms, but when I bought them the sign said "lounge pants". I like them more than a bathrobe for purposes of running around in the morning before getting dressed, but since I got a down comforter (read: sex in blanket form) I never need extra clothing in bed and I haven't bothered to buy another pair since I got rid of my last one. I should get another pair.

I said underwear and a tshirt...but really, I'm not that consistent. A lot of the time I sleep naked. Sometimes I wear undies and a tshirt. I rarely if ever wear a bra. When it's cold I wear full on pajamas. I often wear socks, but then end up with wadded up socks in the bottom of my bed.

I usually do boxers. If it's a cool night, add a t-shirt. If it's a cold night, remove boxers, add flannel pajama pant-ish things.

My roommate last year slept fully clothed, which kind of freaked me out a little.

Score another one for lounge pants. I used to wear a watch all the time, including bed. Then I started working at a job where you weren't allowed to wear a watch, so I stopped. That was two jobs ago, but I am still without watch except on more formal occasions.
