Playing the opening riff to Stairway on an electric that isn't plugged in, over and over again, while there's no one around to complain that I'm playing a song they probably haven't heard in months.

I love that riff... it's great to think with; at first I can't concentrate on what I'm thinking about, but then after a little my hands go into autopilot and my mind just wanders. Blissful.

One of the best papers I've ever written was a 10 page research paper I did about half the research for and wrote between 12 and 4 AM.

Here's my two cents:

Seeing an old friend after a long time
Raising your hand in class and the teacher saying "Other hands, please?"
That one lone ciggie you allow yourself after a week of cold turkey
People complimenting the outfit you've thought so hard to put together
Coming home after a long trip
Remembering that one elusive word on the tip of your tongue that's been driving you crazy for the past week [last time it was "vicariously", and I had to settle for life-like - synonyms are shit]
Chocolate :)

Quoted for truth. I just had a cup of tea. Milky, and with biscuits. Unfortunately, the biscuits were chocolate digestives. I love the chocolate ones but standard-issue digestives are much better with tea.

Thunderstorms
Randomly realizing a pair of words share a root (like vicar and vicarious)
A good glass of port
Any thing off of Markus Schulz's more recent albums
Extraneous and unnecessary use of large and esoteric words
Hugs are also hard to beat. And sushi.

Hot chocolate late at night by a campfire.

Finding money that I forgot that I left in my jacket pocket.

Making someone else laugh when I manage to say something clever in real life.

Reading a book on the couch in my living room, listening to a thunderstorm.

Cafe Mocha at the coffee shop in the bookstore.

Talking to a friend I haven't seen in ages.

Mmmmm.

Running into a friend while waiting to catch the train home.
Hot chocolate when it's late and cold. (Speaking of which... *makes some*)
My boyfriend coming into bed and wrapping his arms around me. Waking up in the same position.
The cat running up when I open the door.
My sister hugging me when one of us gets home.

My Little Joys:
Sliding my backpack off my arm by just moving my shoulder. -No idea why.
Semi-dancing to music while trying to walk somewhere, but not overly obviously.
Watching people walk into things. -Such a classic.

Ian's backpack thing, hell yes; economy of movement in general just rocks.
Pulling on a brand-new pair of socks, especially having just showered.
The mummy maneuver: trap one edge of blanket between knees and roll.
Finding an excuse to use my Swiss Army knife.
Freshly squeezed orange juice.
Realizing with not a little surprise that, despite the many reasons I can find to be unhappy, I am happy -- and that that's not likely to change any time soon, since it has nothing to do with my situation and everything to do with me.
Indulging the munchies.
Flexing/making funny faces in front of a mirror.
The sky is always perfect.
Music.
Expressing myself in words.

I could go on listing little joys forever... this is fun.
Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time.

Seeing her face, even if you're not really.

A new xkcd.

Knowing that even though the pain is excruciating, as soon as I talk to her again it'll all go away.

Realizing you already did all your math homework at school.

Finally hitting that high note.

The pained look on your family's face after hitting that high note.

Thinking about how many little joys your life has.

EDIT:
Singing in the rain, or for that matter the song itself
