When was the last time you skipped

Postby Benitosimies » Wed Dec 05, 2007 3:22 am UTC

Not skip as in 'omit' or 'a hip way to say not going to class or work', but as in the jumping gait.

I just skipped in here wishing I was also naked.

It's the mode of transportation of the future!

Which is to say... Summer semester, I believe, following a joke that began last fall.

Gym class, but they make us skip. I actually haven't skipped voluntarily for about a month now, mainly because it's too goddamn cold outside to skip practically.

Skipping isn't something I enjoy doing. Really, tip-toe skipping is a pain.

We sometimes do that as a warm-up for fencing. I haven't been to fencing practice in months, though. Too many warm-ups.
So, I got tired of the fact that the appearance of my band name in my signature made my posts on this forum the dominant result when googling for my music. Anyway, if you think I might happen to be a good musician, you can test this theory here.

If you count polka-ing as skipping I skipped on Monday.

Last year, I refused to skip but ended up doing it anyway because my roommate challenged me to a skipping contest. I'm a wee bit competitive with certain people.

I have noticed that half the people here interpeted this as skip as in "Skip through a field of daisies." and the other half took it as "Skip with a skipping rope."

Interesting. So you get skip rope practically (without wearing 8 layers and with snow and ice on the ground) or skip to the car.

A few weeks ago I was at a friend's house when we all decided to go outside, in the dark and the rain, and skip down the street.

Ditto. Probably quite a bit less than four. I skip with my girlfriend reasonably often when we are out and about. Or rather, I skip and she usually looks at me a bit strangely.

I am not a natural skipper (aargh ahoy me maties!) but I did skip on Sunday. Hubby surprised me and this made me glad and while walking to the place he surprisingly took me to I skipped to catch up to him and take his hand. He laughed at me.

Well... I picked 4, just to be safe, but I'm nearly positive it was within the past two. But I don't want to make a liar out of myself so I played it safe with 4. :o

If I skip, it's usually inside the house when I'm alone. I do it quite often, but I'm embarassed. :-)

Skipping as a mode of transportation is fun. You don't get to be completely off the ground as long when you're simply running, and it can be about as fast as running, too.
Oh yeah. Sunday evening. (Sounds like Sunday was a good day for skipping)

There are so very few things I can do alone that will bring a smile to my face every time. Skipping, whistling, and picking banjo leap to mind. I try to do them as frequently as possible.

Hi, my name is Habenero, and I have not skipped for three days.
Why make things difficult when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogical with just a little bit more effort?

It works quite well, actually, but only for shorter distances, like between classes. Too long and you start to tire.

About a week ago, on the way to a birthday gathering. I just grabbed the hands of the two people closest to me and took off. It quickly degenerated from skipping tra-la-la to over the top, body twisting, see-how-high-you-can-get-off-the-ground skipping.

It. Was. AWESOME.

And we caused a police car to stop and reverse. They thought we were high or something.

It's probably been less than a month. I like to skip to the shop, usually to the embarrassment of whoever I'm with. It's fun, though!

I also skip if I need to catch up with someone, as it's faster than walking and more fun than running. :P

Skipping rope isn't an American term. We tend to call it a jump rope and reserve the word skip for the through the daisies connotation. I don't remember when I last did it but I do tend to skip a little bit when I'm happy.

I'm pretty sure I have skipped in the past three months. My friends are usually awesome in the sense that if one of us starts skipping, the others will follow.

I skip regularly. It's only slightly slower than a full run and it uses much less energy. Line-skipping is a little habit of mine; I try to start them as often as possible. I generally find that if you can make the line crash into someone, they will eventually join.
