Yeah... um hi drinkies! :P

I heard that vodka is good for treating jellyfish stings and halotosis.

Is this true? :|

I'm fairly certain if you use a large enough amount of vodka on either a jellyfish or a person with bad breath, they will probably pass out. Problem solved.

In other news, I think you urinate on jellyfish stings and mouthwash has alcohol in it, so probably.

Narrowly avoided embaressing incident today, drank a few beers from a slab I just got and read the the side of the slab and saw Best before August -09 so I was about to go back to the store and return it and thus net a few freee beers this morning and my sister looked at the side and said that's wierd, it says best after! This was close all. So drank more beer tonight!YAY

Also Re jellyfish stings and Vodka Vinegar is widely known down under as a suitible emergency remedy for jellyfish stings because it stops the barbs that haven't already released their poison from doing so. Vodka might work... but I figure it's the acid in the vinegar that stops it which vodka has some of but is not as potent due to having too high a pKa (or low maybe)

WELL its technically the morning after. MAN tonight was a good night. Saw avatrar and went to a bar afterwards. Also finished another semester of university. Avatar is amazing, see it, watch it, love it. But I still have to pack up all my shit tonight before I head back home tommorow from rez. As to the random vodka convo., well, i've never encountered a jellyfish, but i think that vodka could kill them, if anything can. Excuse me while i go drunkenly go about my business. I LOVE BEING IN ENGINEERING!!! WOOGHOOOO.

Be kind to magicians. They already have to deal with cynical children who have lost faith in magic and want to show off how clever they are by heckling from the back. Magic is hard.

At our Christmas Eve party I have tested the theory of the Ballmer Peak by having about 3-5 glasses of wine and then coding. It works fucking wonderfully. I have rewritten my compiler's type-inference system more elegantly in fewer lines of code than I'd ever thought I could make it work in when sober. I also spotted and corrected a few bugs. Finally, I spotted and corrected bugs in the code I had just written. Thus, I now have a unification-based type inference engine capable of handling equality and lesser-than-or-equal constraints and covariance. Once I write the code to annotate the AST with type constraints it will also support parametric polymorphism.

SUCK IT, SOBRIETY!

Just had some rum that did NOT agree with my stomach. Luckily I managed to carry it all the way to the bathroom before letting it out.

I'll stick with beer for the rest of the night. Sweet delicious beer.... mmmm.

I recently decided that Funcohol was becoming a problem in my life; so I stopped drinking before a slight issue evolved into a full on addiction.

Being a non-drinker sucks; once I've gone six months dry I'm looking forward to returning to occassional social binge drinking... But none of the lets have a couple of cans each night social drinking shite, that'd fuck me right up.

Update, I was convinced to drink for one night only at a friends birthday celebration...

I had a full (15pint) keg of Brains SA before we went out, and some G&T's at the pub; The night ended with me snorting the world's hottest chillis, throwing a (butter) knife at someone, and getting into a fight in an argument about statistical probablilty and inductive logic, I have a broken nose, cut forehead, torn ear, and horrid hangover.

I FOUND THE DRUNK THREAD. GO ME. YEAH. I didn't eat much today but I made up for that with lots of Irn Bru and Smirnoff and the season première of Skins so it's all good. Somehow I managed to post something offensive and then the Internet got slightly angry and stuff. Yeah. That. Going back to the drink now.

It is 3.35am. I lost count of how much I had to drink exactly but it was quite a lot. I blame my friend Mhairi because she bought too many drinks and said I had to help her finish them so I did and now my brain is fuzzy and my tummy is funny and I'm not sure if I'll even make it to class tomorrow (my class is at 1 so it's not really early or anything). I did manage to make sure Mhairi got in a taxi at a proper taxi rank and make sure she got her address out ok though, so all in all I'm quite impressed.

Also the toilets at cab vol in Edinburgh are weird. The stall doors are made of the glass stuff that's see through on the side inside the stall and mirrored outside so when you pee you can see everyone inside the loos. It's fricken weird.

I love firefox dictionary. :)

I'm sober, really really sober, and I'll be sober tomorrow, then I'll have some sachets of vodka and waragi and won't be sober so much any more, and then chaos will reign supreme for the 10-20 minutes before I collapse in a heap.

Damn it, why is it that the first time I decided to get myself drunk I completely forgot about this thread. I went to all the places on the internet you don't want to visit while drunk. Maybe it was the alcohol clouding my judgment, but I don't know what got in me that I decided to tell /b/ about my drunkenness...

I would post here if it were the "pleasantly buzzed thread." But it's a little worrying, given the amount of whisky I have drunk recently, that I only feel pleasantly buzzed. I guess that's tolerance for you. I miss college friends.

EDIT: On the other hand, ofter two months of concerted effort, I finished 1.75 liters of whisky by myself.
